   Don’t hesitate to book. What an absolute lovely place. We had the afternoon tea and it was delicious. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere was great and the surroundings are above 5* Definitely will be back.

   Unfortunately the service was very poor. We had to wait a long time to order and also for our food to arrive. We were not well attended for drinks. A bit disappointed

   Have not been here for years . Asked waiter who was a nice chap what he advised and advised to go for the signature ‘Ivy’ dishes. Verdict. For that price poor/fair at best. The most mediocre shepherds/cottage pie I’ve ever had. Food was just passable, but I’ve also had the best ever cottage pie in Cambridge somewhere else. Peas a little overdone. Don’t think my friends though too much of their Chicken. Next desserts. Tiramisu tasted pre-made and not too fresh but nice dusting of chocolate. We also had the Berries which were impressively presented over CO2 and the Ivy chocolate Bombe which was said to be ok. Friend decided to have onion soup for dessert and said it was excellent which along with a very good but overpriced Malbec pushed the overall mark up by one. Good atmosphere. Nice building. Historic street. If however you want good food at a fair price do not go there. Maybe ok for drinks and selected items if you’re lucky. £60/head inc service fro 2 courses, only 1 side, 5 beers, 1 wine glass and water.

   We enjoyed the food at first service was a bit slow but after it was excellent We thought what we ordered for food and drink As it was a three of us was a bit high. Mmm

   Service at the Ivy is second to none - staff are wonderful. The food is great and beautifully presented - just wish they wouldn't serve the beans separately on the breakfast - impossible to eat from the little pan. Lovely touch was the exquisite profiterole complete with candle that arrived at the end in celebration of my husbands birthday.

    We visited The Ivy in Cambridge for Sunday lunch as a family of five. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a stylish and relaxed ambience that makes for a pleasant dining experience. The service was polite and attentive, but unfortunately, they held plates of hot food above the children in high chairs which is always a big no no and the food did not live up to expectations. Most of the dishes arrived lukewarm at best, which was particularly disappointing for a Sunday roast. The roast chicken, in particular, lacked flavour and was quite underwhelming. Given the reputation of The Ivy, we expected something much better. While the presentation was nice, the overall quality did not justify the £155 final bill, which felt steep for what we received. Overall, a lovely setting, but the food needs improvement, especially when considering the price point.
