Serving up New American Tavern Cuisine in our two-floor full-service restaurant and bar, equipped with two 50-seat bars, world-inspired snacks and entrees, brick pizza oven, private event space, and an open rooftop patio that offers views of downtown Worcester and City Square. Located next to the DCU Center and minutes from Polar Park, we’re a natural choice pre and post-game.

*Due to limited patio seating, we do not take reservations for our patio. Please note the patio request in your reservation, or ask upon arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate.

**The rooftop is open Wednesday-Friday 4 PM - close. Saturday & Sunday 12 PM - close.

***Public parking is available at The Mercantile Center Garage with direct access to the restaurant on Level 3A.

    *NOTE*- When booking, please keep your guest count at 1. Do not enter how many guests are attending. Your booking is for one Igloo which seats up to six people. Select the date & time you would like to join us - click Find Table - select the time from the available slots (it will say 1 special under the time) - For the Seating Option select "Outdoor," you can now book your reservation. FAQ: Reservations are required. All reservations are 2 hours max with a 6 person limit, no exceptions. A required $50 non-refundable rental fee will appear when you book your date & time. Each igloo is equipped with a heater however, we still encourage guests to dress warmly. The Mercantile reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to weather.

    Highly recommended winter experience! We enjoyed a wonderful family birthday celebration (5 guests) inside one of the rooftop restaurant’s igloos. The hostess seated us promptly at our reservation time and the restaurant was festively decorated for the holidays. It was a cold January evening and we were very comfortable inside the igloo with the lap blankets and warming stove - even without our coats. Service was great (thank you, Xavier) and the timing was appropriate for our two hour time slot. Craft cocktails and appetizers were creative and tasty (Brussels sprouts, birria queso and boom-boom shrimp). Main dishes (Japanese fried chicken, chicken teriyaki, Cajun chicken rigatoni) were very good. A couple of us wanted the cast iron roasted chicken but it was sold out. We had pre-ordered the chocolate dessert fondue and it was a nice way to top off our leisurely dinner. This was our first time trying the Mercantile and we all had a fabulous time! Location, garage parking and atmosphere worked well for our group. We’ll be back again for another igloo in the winter and are looking forward to meeting there during warmer weather, too.

    Went on a busy Fri night with a reservation. Seated right away and drink and apps came out quickly. Meal came within 5 minutes of ordering. Waitress forget to bring sliverware and it took 10 minutes to try to catch her without any luck before walking up to the reservation desk to get assistance. In fairness, she had a lot of tables to cover. Food was good (although a bit cold at this point) . Bill came quickly after we were finished. Take out order we placed was forgotten so we had to wait for it, but it also came with in five minutes. Take away from this experience - great place to go for good food if you want a quick meal. Very busy and noisy so definitely not a place to linger and chat.

    I ordered the pasta with butternut squash, but it didn't have much squash or sprouts. For $20, I received a bowl of flavorless buttery pasta. The portion was huge, but I would have preferred something more flavorful and less greasy with more vegetables.

    A gem in downtown Worcester. After going to the VanGogh exhibit, it made sense to dine here afterward and we were very glad we did! The menu was terrific and our server was excellent. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the ambiance.

    Some friends wanted to go out for dinner, locally. I stumped upon Mercantile due to it being close by. I’ve been there numerous times but I didn’t know that they have an igloo setup during the winter months. I booked it and tried our luck. When got there, we did have to wait for 20 minutes, which was not pleasing…. But our waiter… made it up. He literally checked on us throughout. Made sure we were happy with our meals. Meals were correct. The only thing was that my steak was a little over cooked but they compensated me with a gift card. We will be returning. Loved our server…..oh… igloo… they gave us blankets for us folks that loves moreeeee heat.

    Food was good and staff very friendly. The restaurant is primarily a sports bar and many games were on.

    Very cool classic look of a refurbished warehouse. Large bar and ample seating with multiple levels. Good service and good food but nothing overly special. The far end of the first floor should be redesigned to give the same feel as the main area, you lose the cool when you are pushed all the way to the end.

    We love the ambience, food, and service at The Mercantile. Last night did not start out as the greatest experience though. We had a 5:00 reservation for 4 adults and were seated at a very tiny table in the bar area, while other parties of 2 were seated at much larger tables. Perhaps it's because I specified a standard table as opposed to a high top when making the reservation. These little tables/booths along the wall should only be for 2 or 3 people, not 4. It was very tight so we asked to be moved once the waitress came to greet us, which was a while after we arrived. We were able to be moved to a larger table in a different part of the restaurant which was much more comfortable. We did have to ask for silverware when our appetizers arrived and salt when the meal arrived. Other than that, our night was very nice and the food was delicious.

    Great first time at the Mercantile! Loved the atmosphere. Food was good and priced well - not at the excessively high-priced level of many similar type restaurants. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was lively. We would definitely go back to dine there again when in Worcester!
