North Scottsdale’s heart beats to a Latin drum at The Mission at Kierland Commons where renowned Chef Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro and Fat Ox) brings a modern twist to Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.

                                                                                                          Our waiter was a little less than pleasant. The servers didn’t know what the dishes were they were serving nor who to give them to. Chips were incredibly greasy and the steak tacos were tough. Pretty disappointing overall.

                                                                                                          The steak taco was delicious, my husband had the mahi mahi taco which was good as well. The dessert pumpkin bread pudding was amazing. Service was great. The menu is a little limited but what we had was wonderful.

                                                                                                          This restaurant is esthetically pleasing but doesn’t live up to the hype. Rude bartender (who knew we were waiting for a table) started the night, but we got over that when got a great seat on the balcony. Tableside guac was very good (and the maker was upbeat and lovely for being in high school!). But steak tacos were mediocre as was the Mahi. Nothing special. One of those places that you go to once. Had the potential for being better but misses.

                                                                                                          We have been to Mission numerous times and it never disappoints. The food was fabulous, the service was excellent and ambiance was fantastic. We will be back again.

                                                                                                          In an effort to create the feeling of a fun restaurant, the manager plays exceedingly noisy dance music so conversation is difficult. Even outside on the patio the speakers relentlessly pounded club music and nobody I spoke to tried to lower the volume or change the music to something more suitable to dining. It ruined our evening. Very disappointed as there are so many other nice restaurants around the corner that we will choose next time. I hope they learn their lesson.

                                                                                                          We always visit this restaurant when in Scottsdale. Excellent food. Yesterday had terrible service. They sat everyone else around us while we waited. We even saw an earlier time come up on OT and asked if we should make that reservation even though we already checked in at the hostess stand. Finally got seated after waiting 25 minutes. Ignored at the table for 15 minutes. Slow service when we finally received some. We would have walked out after getting seated if I didn't know the food was delicious. Too many restaurants to choose from on Kierland Commons and we will choose another next time.
