In 2016 the Old School BBQ was born, using a freshly imported 1982 Bluebird International American school bus from Arizona as a mobile kitchen.

The bus was converted from a traditional seated bus to a fully functional kitchen, with smokers and griddles to cook low and slow BBQ food.  The OSB journey had begun, trading from humble beginnings on a local pub car park in Failsworth. 

Our little yellow bus soon became a familiar landmark and we became more and more popular with lunch goers who wanted freshly prepared, appetising food served with a smile.  Soon demand meant that we would be more often than not greeting our customers with a "sold out" sign, so it was time to expand.

So here we are, with a covered seated area serving our firm favourites, complemented with a fully licenced bar and WC facilities... did we mention the stage?  That's right, we also provide live music from various acts from near and far - we are sure you will find our eatery to be like no other!

    Was mega time get again just sad about entertainment not being there.is what it is overall fantastic time mega food staff are on job thank you again

    Food was delicious! No faulting the main meal but not all desserts were available and the vanilla ice cream, I think was homemade, but abit bland. Service good but a little slow to say how quiet it was. Overall we would definitely visit again and the comments are just minor details, all of our party enjoyed our food. There is also a very good selection of drinks.

    Absolutely amazing the food was definitely the best bbq stuff we had in the uk! The smoke was incredible!! And every staff member working customer service was spot on!!

    I’ve been to the BBQ bus several times since it opened including before it had its permanent site in Hollinwood. The venue itself has come on leaps and bounds over the years and has a much cosier feel now, you wouldn’t realise you are in a big tent, it’s clean, warm and dry. Ambience was good and service good and the little additions like the pool table and projector screen annd deserts counter are a nice touch. The food wasn’t bad but I just don’t think it was as good as when it was just Mark in the bus at the Pole on his own. This probably comes with the demand of the place though and having to turn out more food for more customers. The food was still very nice though, it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for and you can tell from the taste that the ingredients used are quality ones. A repeat customer who will no doubt be back again soon.

    The food was delicious and arrived in a good amount of time. The restaurant was busy but plenty of staff to give good service. I love that they're constantly updating the place; it's great that they've got a pool table now. The band were good and created a fun atmosphere. OSB is one of my favourite places in the area, it never disappoints.

    Excellent food and great service by Billy and the team . Looked after us really well . Definitely go there again when in Oldham .
