As you walk into the Peacock you get the feeling of history, built in 1652, the hotel was originally used as a dower house for Haddon Hall. The link between the two survives today as Lord Edward Manners brought the hotel back into his estate in 2004, the hotel has many pieces of unique furniture and art work from the Estate. The Bar is another step back into the past with a copper topped bar and untouched surroundings, the extensive cocktail and drinks list can be enjoyed in the bar or lounge before dinner. Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes–the top ten percent in the country. We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu & a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods. We serve truly local ingredients including organically-reared beef & lamb from the Haddon Estate. We are open for lunch in our bar and restaurant Tuesday to Saturday and dinner in our bar Tuesday to Friday and dinner in our restaurant Tuesday to Saturday.

Designed by our Head Chef Dan Smith, our tasting menu is a truly memorable gastronomic experience, with the key behind each dish being seasonal, quality ingredients, and where possible, sourced from local producers and suppliers. Available in our restaurant every Friday and Saturday evening, book your table between 7pm and 7.45pm. Please allow 3 hours for your dining experience.

First visit, but not the last. The food was wonderful backed up by knowledgeable and friendly staff. And really good value for money for top class food.

Really warm cosy venue that also has accommodation available. Staff were obviously well versed on how to manage guests and the meals provided were exquisite. Great place for a few drinks and food just be remember you get what you pay for 😊

Outstanding quality food, friendky helpful staff & excellent customer service. Very comfortable & great atmosphere eating in the bar. A perfect place for a special meal out. Thank you all at The Peacock!

From the moment we arrived for lunch there was excellent and attentive service from all staff. The food (Christmas Lighter Lunch Menu) was superb and courses were served with just the right break between them. Would highly recommend and hope to go there again.

We had a lovely Christmas lunch ahead of a visit to a Christmas Market and it certainly got us in the mood! The hotel was beautifully decorated, the meal was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient.
