If you want a light meal, forget it! I'm a three-course type of guy and was full after my mail mean so had no room for dessert. I enjoyed the fillet steak which was, in my opinion, cooked to perfection - normally I like my meat 'cremated' just to make sure the cow is actually dead but fillet steaks are best done Medium rare, this was one - it was tender and tasty, not chewy and not grissle.
I had a beer with my main course, after which I started on the wine which I shared with my partner and my mother, the white wine we chose was the Voignier - a fruity, sweet and full-bodied wine with length; a good substitute for the more expensive Gavi.
Service was very good and friendly. Everywhere was clean.
Our table was nestled in the corner (we had the same 2 nights on the trot), it was cold on one night but not so bad the 2nd, you also do get a lot of noise from the bar area, so if you have a large and noisy crowd, conversations are difficult.
All in all, go in hungry, don't expect to come out hungry, if you prefer desserts skip the starter, but definitely recommended.
The Pickled SproutHeeft vandaag gereageerdThank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your fillet steak and that the wine selection hit the spot — Viognier is definitely a hidden gem on our list.
We’re also glad our team helped make your visit welcoming and comfortable. Apologies for the bit of chill and the noise from the bar area — your feedback is really helpful and something we’ll keep working on to improve.
It was a pleasure having you dine with us (twice!) and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back again soon — hopefully hungry enough for dessert next time!
