   Overpriced tourist trap. Our spring rolls appetizer came out about a minute after we ordered them. If you’re just gonna microwave them, at least wait and pretend that you made them to order. The food was so so — not worth the value. My shrimp & grits shrimp managed to be cold while the grits were warm. So the prepared shrimp were sitting somewhere chilled and you just put them on top. Lesson learned - never again!

   Our server never introduced himself and was not polite. We were celebrating a birthday and he could’ve cared less.

   The She crab soup was awesome. Highly recommend. Had the Pecan fried chicken as an entree and it was also good.

   Our service was good. We were in a quieter room with only three tables which was nice for us. The food was uninspired. The fired seafood was under seasoned and the blob of mash potatoes was unappetizing. My corn cake and shrimp appetizer was ok. Nothing special especially once you factor in the price.

   Menu options for gluten free dining were plentiful and meal was very good! Because of my gf needs, the fried chicken was replaced with grilled chicken breasts with all the same sauces and side options. Yay!! The beasts were a little dry but still good. Service was great!!

   The history of the Pirates House is interesting, but there isn't a way to appreciate the rooms or the inside as you're whisked away to the room where you eat. Our server was pleasant and efficient, but food is over priced and so-so. I appreciate that it's a tourist trap and people go there as a destination, but then the food should be equal to the reputation. Complimentary basket of biscuits and muffins was our favorite part. Two of us had the crab cakes, one had the steak special, and one the pasta. All were ok. My vegetables and mashed potatoes were room temp and crab cakes not piping hot. Grilled shrimp didn't seem to have much added flavor. The buerre blanc was hardly there and very thin and tepid temperature. The steak was supposed to be 14 oz, but lots of fat and much smaller than anticipated. The pasta was a good portion, but flavors not unique and definitely not a lot of spice. Just two small pieces of alligator sausage, but plenty of shrimp. The kids that came into the dining room were given private hats and that was probably great for them, but for a couple hundred dollars for four people I felt like things could have been better.

   The experience looked great for kids and families. Food was not impressive. Don't recommend the tilapia - it had no flavor. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken.

    It was a fun time for the kids, but the waitstaff did not seem to be supported by management due to the fact our waiter seemed flustered from an issue with something I feel a manager should have handled (a wobbly table that caused a spill) We a super friendly waiter. The bathroom was severely neglected. My filet mignon was ok, but my other diner had the salmon & loved it. We will come back.
