The Rabbits is a family friendly gastro pub & restaurant in the heart of the essex countryside. We pride ourselves on good friendly service and good quality homecooked food with our seasonal menus, we serve real ales, fine wines & premium spirits. We have a great beer garden where you can take in the picturesque views whilst not having to go too far to order any food or drink as this can all be done at our garden bar which is also playing background music around our garden, this is open Thurs-Sunday throughout the spring/summer weather permitting. There is a childrens play area and we also welcome dogs in our garden and inside the bar area. The Rabbits Team look forward to seeing you soon.

Wonderful Sunday lunch my daughter and I like to go for Sunday lunch twice a month and have been looking around for good Sunday lunch restaurants and I saw a recommendation for this little pub about a 30 min drive away and we went this Sunday and it was truly amazing we had an excellent choice of starters bbq pork belly bites, amazing and a yummy butternut squash soup both of which were lovely and really filling, only downside was then we couldn’t eat all of our sharing board as we were too full. The Sharing board was amazing, we have eaten a large variety of Sunday lunches over the last 6 months finding new places for each visit in both central London and Havering and the surrounding areas including well known restaurants such as Blacklock and Hawksmore and I have to say this is by far the best Sharing Board I have ever eaten all the trimmings and a really unctuous gravy, truly lovely traditional Sunday lunch with a real family vibe to the Pub. Well worth a visit

Good quality pub food served with a smile that will not break the bank. Nice pub to meet old friends for a catch up, easy to park , relaxed atmosphere, and no pressure to have to vacate the table. It’s a regular for us because of all of the above.

Delicious home-cooked food and in a very nice setting. Great to have a big car park. Disappointed that the bottle of Dry River Shiraz red wine from S.E. Australia that we ordered was only 11% proof. There were no percentages shown on the wine list. We would possibly have had a more expensive wine which was a higher per cent proof if we had known. Beautiful Christmas tree outside.

Went for a Sunday lunch, it was such a lovely dinner. I had beef and my husband had pork. Both meats were tender and tasty. Great veg & service

Booked here as on their website apparently they've been voted 4th best roast in Essex, either the standard of roads in Essex isn't very high or this was a very favourable review as whilst it was fine, I wouldn't rush back. We had a roast beef and a nut roast, both portions were on the smaller side, roast potatoes not very crispy, Yorkshire puddings were soft and undercooked, the beef was much more well done than I'd like (not even a hint of pink). We also ordered the apple crumble which whilst it was very good, classic no nonsense style just as I like it, it took 35 mins from us ordering for it to arrive. Nobody asked us if we wanted more drinks in that time even though we clearly had empty glasses. Doubt I'd return here.
