The Red Door San Diego is committed to offering our guests sustainable and responsibly sourced farm-to-fork dishes. We proudly serve contemporary Italian and modern European cuisine with the freshest locally grown and handcrafted products available. We also feature delicious and unique ingredients from around the world. Chef/Owner Luciano Cibelli shops daily, personally selecting every item we serve. He bakes fresh breads, rolls, desserts and all of the pasta in house (including a special Gluten Free Bucatini) and he develops his menus in rhythm with the seasonal San Diego harvest. What a wonder experience in every way during our evening at The Red Door. The menu was full of fresh and delicious options that made choosing a challenge. While the wait staff was a joy to interact with and they took great care of us, the chance to meet with Chef Luciano sealed the deal in which delicasies we would feast on. He recommended a magnificent wine that paired perfectly with our meal. If you’re considering a night out at the Red Door, I can’t encourage you enough to do it NOW! You will not be disappointed, and in fact it will lift you to a new appreciation for what beautiful people who are passionate about delicious dining can create.

Sat at the high top in the bar area. Great music and ambience. Food was just mediocre for the prices I had the eggplant and it was good but needed more flavor. I asked for red pepper flakes but the server didn’t bring them. My daughter ordered the scallops. They were overdone and no flavor to the dish (the kale was excellent on top though). My husband ordered the short ribs and they were excellent. The occicheitte (spelling??) was chewy but the sauce was excellent. All in all… won’t be back due to the price of just “okay” food.

The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. Every dish was a delight, from the appetizers to the main course. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch food and exceptional service.

We have lived in San Diego for 4 years now and have tried many italian restaurants. We made the choice to celebrate Valentine’s day here and it has snuck its way into our top spot in terms of Italian in San Diego. The food was amazing, Ryan was our server and was super helpful all night and to top it off the owner and head chef Luciano brought our food to us, shook our hands, and continued to check in on us. A 10/10 experience with great food and amazing natural flavors across the board. We will be back plenty!

This place was recommended by a friend and it exceeded our expectations! There were 6 of us and were seated at a high top in the bar area. There was a gentleman playing piano behind us which was lovely. The service was awesome, the food absolutely delicious and fresh and the icing on the cake was the owner/ chef, went to each table, introduced himself and spoke about the specials. You can tell he is passionate about his customers and serving the highest quality food. I would highly recommend this restaurant❤️❤️❤️ Ps…. The short ribs were to die for!
