   Visited here for Sunday dinner with the 2 Grandsons. Service was good but prices and quality of Sunday dinner was awful .nearly £24 for an adult Sunday dinner and £13 for a child !!!

   We were the only people there as we went early at 6pm and it was a Tuesday. Service was slow. Sat with plates that needed clearing for way too long and several staff walked past including what appeared to be the manger. Food was delicious best Caesar salad and choc brownie. However the choc brownie was £9.95 each Most I’ve ever paid anywhere. Salad was £19.95 There were two of us no alcohol, soft drink each and a coffee each bill was £88 no service charge on that either. Felt really overpriced. Shame as we go out once a month and it’s half way so a good place to meet.

   Our visit was due to a virgin experience voucher I had bought for my husbands birthday earlier in year. Would highly recommend the restaurant. The food was excellent the staff very polite and friendly . We loved the ambience and overall experience and would definitely go again even without the voucher !

   We had a table for 4 in the main restaurant of the Rose & Crown Portway. Not crowded but busy, the atmosphere was good. We all had the Sunday roast lunch. The beef was amazing, the pork was lovely, the chicken portions were a bit on the small side but the veg were all good. It could have all done with being a bit hotter but we accepted it as it was good food. We didn't have starters this time choosing desserts instead which were all fabulous. The Lithuanian lady who served us was a credit to the pub, what a lovely person!

   As it was a beautiful day we are outside which means you have to go to the bathroom to be served. The menu has changed and there wasn’t an easy option to choose that we liked. We both opted for salads. My friends prawn and smoked salmon salad was far too big and my halloumi and hummus salad had no leaves and only fresh tomatoes to counter quite a fatty plate of food. When you choose a salad you are looking for something light and healthy which neither of these dishes particularly were.

    The lunchtime sarnies were excellent, they let me swap chips for salad which was great
