   Surfing Fox is een moderne strandtent nabij de pier. In tegenstelling tot eerdere restaurants waren de porties hier klein. We werden vriendelijk geholpen door Sam. Overige personeel deed wat ze moesten, voelde alsof er te weinig oprechte aandacht aan gasten werd besteed. Ben je in Santa Monica dan zijn er betere opties. Overall was het eten oké maar duur betaald voor wat je krijgt…

   Food has a lot of gains to do. Overall portions are not worth the price, not to menetjon bland. Service has lots of improvements needed as well. Service was very slow. Besides this, staff forgot our orders, brought items at different times, and charged for items not ordered.

   The food was good, and service was friendly. The ambience was lacking - but that could have been due to the cold weather, so it might be a better spot when the sun’s out and the pier is busy.

   As a Santa Monica resident, I noticed that the Surfing Fox was consistently open later than most places which is good if you want to grab a bite in the hood at 9 or later. I finally made a rezzy on open table and showed up only to be told the kitchen had been closed for more than an hour. The person who dealt with me implied I should have known they wouldn't be open this late. She then mentioned that they hadn't had an order for more than 90 minutes. They blamed it on opentable but that's not true because it still allows you to make reservations until 10 o'clock. They said they'd cancel the reservation but they didn't so I was unable to make a reservation elsewhere at the same time. It's been a few weeks now and naturally no one has contacted me to rectify the situation.

   Overall the place was decent. They had advertised live music for the special occasion but night of they did not end up having it. There were no considerations from management to makeup for the false advertising. Picked this place specifically for the entire experience. Over promised, under delivered.

   Food is good it’s just way too pricey and you can probably get just as good, if not better, food for a cheaper price elsewhere.

    Very nice place for breakfast or brunch. Very cute ambiance, friendly service and delicious food. Notes: I would sit indoors as the view outside is more street than ocean and the street there has a lot of traffic. Parking at the hotel valet is expensive even with validation, so if you have time to park in one of the local structures and walk over, that's a more economical choice.

Our valet parking with validation is $15 for the first 4 hours, which is considered competitive in the area, but we have a public parking structure just across the street where the first 90 minutes are free.
