My short beef ribs were terrible! Overcooked dry and nasty. My wife and I enjoyed the poke salad and she liked her Salmon. I asked for a New York steak rare and I got medium well We won’t be returning. Also they wanted me to pay for the nasty beef short ribs That annoyed me and had to tell the waitress that I’m not paying for their mistake.

I was really looking forward to this dinner for my wife’s Birthday and the dish she ordered was the special for the night & it wasn’t good. Weird for the special to not be good. We were a party of 8 & my wife & another person ordered the fettuccine & sausage & both thought the sausage did not taste good. The server asked “How’s your food?” & when we told her not goodshe said, we appreciate the feedback. Nowadays prices are too high to just give feedback. The meals should have been comped.We came here for a special dinner that wasn’t so special. We should’ve just gone to Cavanas across the street. It’s much better & cheaper

On approximately 11/18/24, using OpenTable, I made a reservation for two at 5:30-6:00p.m. on Tuesday, 12/24/24 (Christmas Eve). 7-10 days later, I received a phone call from restaurant staff advising the reservation time needed to be moved up due to early closing. Seems OpenTable parameters had yet to updated by staff prior my making the reservation. The latest time I could get was 3:30p.m. and I, somewhat begrudgingly, accepted. We showed up at the assigned time to find the kitchen was essentially "closed," and a buffet was the only option (@$42). We, somewhat begrudgingly, accepted this "option." The food, in my opinion and experience, was of low quality consisting mostly of typical motel breakfast items. After the reservation was adjusted by staff, I received an OpenTable confirmation of the new time. That email contained a link to "See Menu." When clicked, I am taken to your actual menu not the "special" buffet. Our experience at the restaurant was not a pleasant one. We spent Christmas Eve at the hotel. Accommodations were acceptable and modern upgrades appreciated. A faster elevator and/or fewer stairs would be welcomed by this couple with some moderate mobility issues. Of course, we could have better planned what floor to stay on.

After having a poor experience a month ago for my husbands birthday the Hotel Sutter Restaurant sent us a gift certificate. Our dinner last night was totally different ( positively amazing)! We started downstairs at the Copper Room Bar (great drinks and great ambiance and very versatile bar tender). We then upstairs to the restaurant and was given a choice table and an additional scotch which we had in the Copper Room. The dinner ( veal shanks and a wedge) was absolutely delicious! We were treated to ice cream and homemade carmel sauce ( again very yummy). The Hotel Sutter Restaurant has renewed our faith in coming back. Thank you staff at the Hotel Sutter Restaurant. I encourage any visitor to Sutter Creek to enjoy a special meal at the Hotel Sutter.

We had a true dining experience at Hotel Sutter - excellent food and exceptional service. The restaurant had a full load with holiday shoppers and families. The servers never missed a beat. This our 3rd time in 2 weeks. All 3 were fabulous

Bar is great and lively. Dining room is all hard surfaces and the placement of a live, a amplified musician at its entrance created a loud environment over which a regular dinner conversation could not be heard. Food was OK but it was not an $85 per person meal, which is what it cost all in.

This is the 3rd time we have been here and it’s a wonderful stop with consistently good food and friendly staff. Definitely worth the stop. I haven’t tried the speakeasy downstairs but would like to.
