Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. Really lovely food, went for Sunday lunch and the roast pork and all the food we ordered was excellent quality, beautifully prepared and presented . Highly recommend for a high standard reasonably priced restaurant in Harrogate.

The menu offered a diverse choice and good wine selection. Starters: Scallops, definitely a highlight. Sea trout was refreshing and the home made crumpet was delicious. The black pudding starter was a hit for my husband and son and they said it was really well seasoned. We all had Sunday roasts - the beef was tender and the pork crackling was some of the best I've ever eaten. Deserts: Great selection and it was hard to choose. Sticky toffee pudding was a great choice. The pavlova was really refreshing. Service was exceptional. First time dining at The Tannin Level but I am confident that it will not be the last.

From the greeting on entering, to the lovely wine waiter, waitress and the whole team - the food was exceptional , the wine amazing. We will definitely be back very soon .

This meal was sublime. We went for the fixed price lunch menu for £22. The fish pie was not pre-prepared. It was all freshly put together- big chunks of fresh fish, crunchy samphire, capers, brown shrimps and a delicious sauce. My mum has a shellfish allergy and this was not a bother at all. They prepared hers separately. The portions were very generous. Other tables had delicious looking fish and chips that looked very fresh. Our desserts were a chocolate ganache shortbread with toffee ice cream. Wow! And raspberry meringue with passion fruit and mango coulis. A match made in heaven and beautifully presented. The chefs are super talented - the a la carte menu looked so good. I’m going back! The staff were friendly and professional. The room was cozy and nicely decorated. You really must go! Thankyou Tannin Level!
