Welcome to The Thatch. This bar and restaurant is tucked cosily inside a beautiful 16th century half-timbered thatched cottage amid a row of charming historic houses right in the heart of Thame. Inglenook fireplaces, exposed beams, a cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome all await you. The Thatch offers Modern British-influenced, wholesome country food made with the freshest seasonal
ingredients. There are interesting wines from small vineyards and a choice of traditional ales always on tap. Perfect for relaxed lunches and special occasions. Private dining also available.

Very nice Christmas Dinner, so filling that after Starter and Mains I was too full to even consider dessert.

First Christmas Lunch of the season and a lovely one it was too. The turkey dinner was everything that was expected and more. The staff were attentive on a very busy lunchtime service and couldn’t do enough for us. We both loved it ❤️ and will definitely be back.

Christmas menu is gorgeous, wine menu always good, what more could you ask for a departmental Christmas dinner, food so good I’ve booked a lunch in with my parents pre Christmas.

Great food and service Tables need revarnishing or replacing as they felt stick although they were clean

The Thatch is consistently the best place to eat in Thame. Not a cheap option but the quality is excellent and the staff are just brilliant. You get what you pay for and a full restaurant, mid-week, shows that others must agree.

Waited over one hour for a main course and had to go and ask for dessert menu. Food was satisfactory but disappointed as food on website not available. We were given the bottle of wine as an apology for the time waiting and we did give the discretionary 10% tip as it’s not the staff’s fault , but normally a lack of staff training .

Sunday roasts were great but some dishes had run out when we got there at 3 pm . Overall food was delicious freshly cooked and very helpful staff dealing with a person with allergies making tasty adaptations to meals. Thank you!

A nice place with good food and attentive staff. However it’s was very noisy/echo in the main room making conversation difficult and some of the dishes were overpriced
