   We found everything to be very good except that the Waitress seemed very inexperienced, she got the maths wrong when splitting the bill and handled it a little ungraciously – I got the impression that quite a few of the serving staff were new. So we didn't make a fuss but I wanted the Management to know that the staff Have not got good arithmetic!

   This is one of my favourite places to dine, but had a mixed experience this time. The service was very good, as usual, and nothing wrong with the table and wait times. However, both my starter and main weren't as nice as I had hoped. It felt like the food had been around for a little while, and the main course, a quiche, was a little over done and the pastry quite tough. Portion size was a bit modest for the money

   Most of sandwiches and scones excellent; cakes less good than they used to be. Service quite slow. The room is glorious, but no really great value for money.

   Lovely venue. However my broccoli was burnt - I told the waitress and she deducted something from the final bill. There aren't enough staff: it's difficult to catch the eye of the few who were waiting at table. We spent longer there than anticipated because of waiting for staff. However, it's generally an enjoyable experience eating there, and I shall return.

    The hot food was taken from the kitchen and then placed at the waiters station, to be taken to you by your table waiter. However your table waiter is looking after several tables so your food sits there getting cold until your waiter notices it. For the size of portion the meal was poor value.
