Smell the delicious smokiness of Bendigo’s only dedicated steakhouse & grill, where we use local redgum on the grill; there’s nothing quite like the flavour of meat cooked over redgum. The natural smoky flavours and aromas created by this unique timber are something truly special. In the finest tradition of steakhouses, we use locally sourced meat and the very best in fresh, regional produce.

Showcasing 350 wines, including 28 by the glass, including some seriously interesting wines curated by our inhouse Sommelier. With local wines taking pride of place, including some intriguing European offerings, plus a supporting cast of spirits, beers and other beverages, including a decent alcohol-free selection. Cocktail drinkers will be impressed with our seasonally curated list.

    We had the woodhouse experience for a work treat to end the week. Service was fantastic and food was outstanding!

    This is our favourite restaurant in Bendigo, so when our friends from Sweden decided to visit, we knew where we would dine. Staff are awesome, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. Food is always generous and spot on. We had king prawns. Beautiful! Three had duck, which was amazing and beautifully presented, while one had a perfect eye fillet. We opted for three sides, most of which we couldn’t finish. Then a shared tasting plate of desserts and a cheese plate, all delicious! My only problem was it was a bit noisy, so conversation was tricky at times. Needless to say, we will be back!

    When we go to Bendigo we always book into The Woodhouse and this time didn't disappoint! We just went for the simple 200g steaks, no sauces, and a salad, and it was all superb. Normally the bill can be a bit eye-watering but here we had proof that you can have marvellous food without having to donate a kidney. Highly recommended.
