The charming, tiny, volcanic island of Therasia, which used to be part of the prehistoric island of Strongyle until the great volcanic eruption of 1600BC formed the Santorini islands’ complex as we have come to know it in modern times, has given its name to the brand-new fine dining restaurant of Katikies Kirini. Therasia Restaurant explores the fascinating world of contemporary and classic Mediterannean cuisine, through the creative eye of ingenious Greek-Italian chef Ettore Botrini and his talented team, delivering mouth-watering dishes of top-notch gastronomic mentality.

Our menu serves as an exploration of the eternal trade of gastronomic influences between the contrasting cultures of the Mediterranean seas and a journey to our Chef’s culinary origins from the infinite green hills of Tuscany, to the deep blue waters of the Ionian and the Aegean pelagos.

    We arrived very late to our hotel but the restaurant held our reservation. From the time we were greeted until we left (at closing) the service was attentive. Food was delicious with good presentation and reasonably priced. Getting to the restaurant was the challenge. We had to climb a very steep hill that was not paved. That was absurd (especially going back down after dark. Arrive by taxi and you will have a great experience.

    The best part of this restaurant is without the doubt the view - especially during and after the sunset (as you get an excellent overview of the caldera cliff full of tiny lit hotel rooms and pools) The service was very good, but the food was very average (if pretentious). We had to return a meal because the potato gratin was not fully baked and the meat was on the cold side when the meal was served, and got a much better replacement, which, frankly, should not even happen if you consider how pricy the place is. So, overall, great ambiance, not so great cuisine.

    The location is stunning, be warned not easy to get to unless you are staying right there. Okay, my wife and I got seated, the waiter Nick arrived with cocktail and wine list. We ordered a bottle of wine, they did not have my first choice, my second choice or my 3rd choice. Called it supply issues (THEN UPDATE YOUR LIST PLEASE). I ended up spending $50 more on the bottle and of course there is the 24% tax. That's the end of the complaining, everything else was outstanding. Food (tasting menu) was incredible, ambiance was a WOW, Nick was a great guy, enjoyed him. Expensive but it is Oia Santorini. Would return for another dinner !!

    Went for my birthday and wasn’t disappointed. Food was excellent, view was amazing. The service was exceptional.every single person was so nice and they took great care of us. Highly recommend this restaurant
