Food nice overall but a lot of menu had run out and this wasn’t made clear before we chose. Service was also slow but we put that down to it being Xmas.

I think there must’ve been very busy in the kitchen or short staffed because we (seven of us) waited 1h 40 for food from arrival time. Also, the portions of chips with the adult meals were remarkably small but on request they provided us with an additional bowl of chips. Lots of the things we requested like garden peas instead of minty peas and garlic sauce on the side instead of on top, no ice in the drinks were forgotten/omitted. The food was nice and the staff were polite, but the evening was marred by the extremely long wait for food.

Food was excellent as normal, only thing we felt let down by was no effort done with christmas decorations on our table , specially as was a christmas meal.

Lovely, quiet pub. The food was delicious and they were able to flex to my dietary requirements. The service was good... attentive without being overly intrusive.

A lovely little find. We arrived early but were seated straight away. A lovely warm greeting and a beautiful old world style venue, a few other people eating, and some locals drinking in the bar for 4 in the afternoon, it still had a lovely atmosphere. I can only imagine what it must be like on a Sunday afternoon when it's buzzing with more people. A fantastic choice of food on the menu to suit a variety of tastes. And all very reasonably priced. The leek and potato soup was delicious, as was the homemade steak and ale pie. Not a soggy bottom in sight! The chocolate brownie and ice cream was a hit with my daughter, and my apple and raspberry crumble was to die for. A starter, 3 main courses, 2 desserts and 3 drinks just over £90 which for a beautiful setting and nice full content tummies, I personally thought was great value for money. They have a wonderful undercover garden area out the back, which we will definitely be making a visit to in the summer months. Overall a very pleasant visit to celebrate my husbands birthday and a lovely start to an evening spent at the Thursford Spectacular.
