A spirited, bar-driven restaurant serving rustic Italian fare with modern sensibilities. Tratto means the stroke of a pen or a mark in Italian, nodding to both the neighborhood’s artistic history and the name of The Marker, the boutique hotel next door.

Tratto’s flavorful menu of simple, delicious and shareable dishes coupled with casual, communal-style dining creates a neighborhood bar experience inspired by the Italian tradition of “aperitivo,” or happy hour.

Guests can enjoy playful twists on classic Italian cocktails, boozy Italian sodas, and beer and wine from California and Italy, including a jug of house wine from the taps.

Choose from a wide selection of traditional small-plate antipasti, house-made pastas and pizzas, entrees served family-style, seasonal side dishes, and classic Italian desserts including ice creams, gelatos and sorbets.

Our pizza was delicious, the wine list is good, but very expensive. The service was very slow.

We had an 11:30 am reservation and we're the only ones in the restaurant. We got quick service and the food was delicious. We look forward to going back the next time we are in San Francisco.

The food was very overpriced but good quality. The waitress was friendly but the service was very slow for one of the first reservations of the night. The hostess was rude when we asked for a table further from the door. We ordered the focaccia and it came with one small slice of focaccia. The burrata didn't even come with enough bread to finish the cheese with.

We arrived at the restaurant only to discover that it was closed. How could you confirm a reservation at a restaurant that was not open. Do better Open Table.

Loved the farro salad and the focaccia is delicious. Our server was Lina and she was great! Food was yummy!

We have dine at Tratto before or after live shows several times. The service was great. In the past we have had dinner and it’s been wonderful. This time we had brunch and it wasn’t so good. The bacon was over cooked, potatoes dry, etc. However, the service was still top notch.

It is close to the theater. Food was good. Service was quick. Nice atmosphere. It wasn't crowded and not noisy.

the food was good the server who’s name I never got was horrible. He didn’t check In on us and his attitude the negative. Host and food runner helped us more than our server

I have to confess I’m biased because I loved the restaurant that occupied that space previously when it was Hotel Monaco. I don’t care for the ambience at all now; modern and cold. The food was served fresh and hot - a real plus, but it didn’t taste outstanding. Had the fresh seafood of the day - branzini. The fritto misto was more vegetables than calamari and shrimp. The service was excellent - with Julia it looks like from the receipt. Her service lifted the experience.
