   Had a good pre-theater meal here...great atmosphere, real city vibe, We were seated promptly. The menu has gotten a bit more conventional over the years and everything is quite good. We had some wine (a nice French rosé on a warm day), started wit the ricotta toast which came very quickly. We both had the shrimp and avocado salad (again, it was a hot day) which was delicious and light, with a very nice dressing that did not smother the salad. I thought the pace of the meal was a bit faster than I would have liked (we made reservations for two hours before the show and had our entrees within 20 minutes of arriving. But better than rushing I suppose. We shared some cheesecake for dessert. Excellent, attentive service, the staff there is great, very well run restaurant.

   First time having lunch on a Saturday at Trumbull Kitchen and it was wonderful! The hostess gave us our choice of seating, and our server was attentive, professional and spot on in his service. Both of us in my party had the Shrimp, Avocado and Arugula Salad and it was both beautiful and delicious! The bread and interesting crisps served with also an interesting spread were a tasty change from the usual bread offered in most restaurants. We will definitely go back to Trumbull Kitchen for pre-theatre lunch when we go to TheatreWorks, which is just a few minutes' walk away. Great time!

   We had excellent service- everyone was helpful and friendly. We ordered two entrees to share and the chef played it that way. We had halibut over pea and broccoli risotto and a seared tuna salad- both excellent! It was the perfect pre-theater dinner choice.

   Very enjoyable experience with great food and great service. Met friends at the bar and then were seated right away. Our waiter was pleasant and patient as it took us a while to choose an entree as we were catching up with each other. Will definitely return.

   We went prior to a concert at the XL center. We had a great time, the place was buzzing with excitement. The food was delicious from start to end. We shared the Chang Mai noodles and the chicken sandwich which were all delicious. I always come back!

   Trumbull Kitchen was an excellent choice for our dinner reservation. We had a party of 11 and the staff did a great job with the group. Split into checks without a worry and accommodated any food allergies. The bill was very reasonable given the quality of the food, drinks and service. Would definitely recommend!

   Arrived on time and were seated right away. Tables were a little close together where we were; thankfully our table neighbors were lovely. Service was excellent overall. Could not have asked for a kinder, pleasant, and efficient server. We started out with some Caesar salads, both delicious. Wine was great as well. Unfortunately my one gripe is the main dish. I was originally going to order the hangar steak, but the server convinced me to try one of the specials, so I opted for the marinated skirt steak and baked Yukon potatoes/broccolini instead. Potatoes and broccolini were fantastic, however, the steak was so salty and chewy I could barely eat it. My wife also said her brick chicken was overly seasoned and salty. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to the steak from the quality I had been accustomed to the previous year. We may wait a little while before coming back.

    Haven't been here in more than 20 years, and made a reservation for two families (total of 7 people) to dine on a Saturday night. It was loud - and maybe it's because I'm older now, but our table was right in the middle of the dining area in the back and it felt like there were speakers right above us. Food was good. Nothing was amazing or blew us away. The guacamole portion for $14 was tiny, it may have been a single avocado and was pre-mixed, so we couldn't request no onions. My daughter ordered an item off the vegetarian menu (simply because that was what she wanted to eat that night) - the cheese ravioli, and when it arrived it was piled with shrimp - which she doesn't eat. So that was disappointing, and she was grossed out. Service was fine. I ordered a second drink while waiting for our meal that never arrived unfortunately. I had to ask as we were ordering dessert to make sure it wasn't on the bill. This will not be a place we return, even if we are in the downtown Hartford area. Too expensive for the quality of food and service received.
