Jamie. Christmas menu is a real cracker. Superb quality and brilliant value . XMAs parties made it a bit noisy, but nothing could detract from the quality of the food or the value. Twenty Seven has to be the best restaurant in the South West and Kingsbridge is lucky to have Jamie and his team. They are always trying something new to get diners through the door while never sacrificing quality. A lesson to other restaurants and pubs in the area who week in week out offer the same average food.while charging similar prices to Twenty Seven. Jamie operates in a higher stratosphere.. I urge everyone to to patronise it or we will loose this great restaurant

The food was excellent. We had the festive three-course menu and added the optional canapés; and the appearance, taste and quality of everything we had was first-class. I was also impressed by the imagination and variety of dishes, from beetroot macarons to creamed sprouts. However, the service was once again disappointing. I arrived as the first of my party of four, and was left waiting, unacknowledged, by the entrance, while three members of staff were busy sorting out something. Once up in the restaurant, our two main serving staff were friendly and helpful but they really needed a third colleague… The restaurant was full, and they had too much to do to be able to be properly attentive to our table, so some things took too long, while others felt rushed. I asked three times for a jug of water, for instance, and we had to ask again for it to be refilled. We had to ask a waitress if we could place our orders, having waited quite a while. Three of the four of us finished our mains before the fourth, and when he put his knife and fork together on the plate, our plates were whisked away while he was still chewing. “Has everyone finished?” might have been a good idea. And we found it hard to attract a waitress’s attention to get the bill. Once downstairs, there was some confusion over the bill as the manager couldn’t initially find the name of our party on her list — because she thought we were part of a larger party also leaving at the same time. The mistake was perhaps understandable, but she was a little short in sorting it, and an apology would have been nice. Overall, though, it was very enjoyable evening with top-quality food that wasn’t over-priced. We’ll come again. Thanks, Jamie!

The food was excellent as was the service, the only criticism (and it’s not really a criticism) is that there were too many menus, we found it odd that and extra 2 courses on the 7 course tasting menu was an extra £50 from the 5 course, hence we didn’t choose the 7 as it didn’t seem to make sense! The 5 course was excellent value.

Hi Niki Really glad you thought the food and service was excellent :) I thought I’d explain the menus for any one reading, the 5 course is a shorter version of the signature tasting menu, it’s more affordable as we use cheaper ingredients on this menu ie 1 PARSNIP, Honey& saffron 2 PUMPKIN, Comte, pear, truffle 3 VENISON, apple, celeriac 4 PRE DESSERT 5 CHRISTMAS PUDDING, sponge, salted caramel The signature menu uses prime ingredients for example, crab ravioli, beef 3 ways, (fillet, short rib, cheek) salted Carmel & pistachio dessert all a lot more labour intensive and ingredients costing more than the 5 course! So if you think the 5 course is good, you really need to come back and try the signature menu :) kind regards Jamie

We had the roast for 2 people and it was lovely.. very generous portions.. tasted amazing! I would recommend..

Highly recommended. We had the Sunday roast platter, excellent choice of vegetables and meat all cooked to perfection.
