Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro is a fine dining restaurant serving Greek-inspired cuisine from the Mind of Chef Vaso Volioti. With a range of authentic, house-made salads, gyros, platters, filo-based appetizers and mouthwatering entrees, it's easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants around. The dining area is large, relaxed and modern and there's a fully stocked bar with great wine selections to pair with your meal. The staff at Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro is friendly and knowledgeable.

We have been in Alexandria, Old Town area, 1118 King Street, serving and supporting our community, for more than 15 years, always committed to bring our best in quality, taste, safety and respect that characterizes us.

                                                                                          Our table enjoyed happy hour drinks and apps. We also ordered the scampi and shrimp pasta as well as their signature shrimp pasta dish. We were impressed by it all. The portions are generous for the price. Highly recommend the baklava! Only thing to note is more of a mobility/family point of interest. The bathrooms are located upstairs and it was lacking a baby changing area. My only critique would be to add something in the bathroom to accommodate families. Otherwise a great night and everyone spoke about how delicious the food was and how we would definitely make a point to come again soon! It brought us right back to Europe.

                                                                                          Vasos has been a local go-to for us for several years. Wine was great. I love moussaka, but theirs is often too full of potato and the bechemel not distinctive. A guest ordered it and we agreed that Taverna Cretekou's is much better. Their chicken dish was quite nice, though the portions were noticeably reduced this time and the pasta side dish had a tomato sauce that tasted like a bland ragu. Disappointing. The stuffed flounder was also surprisingly tasteless and a very small portion. It's as though a different grade of feta was used along with a very mild (maybe baby?) spinach. We've loved Vasos in the past, the ambiance is intimate and the service staff is great. But it seems that they are cutting corners on the food.

                                                                                          Our first time at this restaurant. Friendly welcome and excellent service for our party of 4 Very good, promising menu of Greek and Italian fare - which generally was not matched by the kitchen. Good, albeit expensive wine list with enormous markups. We ordered a couple of bottles of the pretty young Chianti (2022). Two of us shared a very good Greek salad but the portions of feta were tiny. I followed with the baked stuffed flounder, which was pretty tasteless (very little lemon butter taste). My wife followed with pretty tasteless chicken souvlaki platter. Had it seen a BBQ grill? I doubt it. Very dry with little taste of chicken. We both then had the tirimisu, which ws Ok but tasted very little of coffee and was somewhat watery. Those of us fortunate enough to travel often to Greece and Italy did not find anywhere near the cuisine quality we find there. Apart from the salad, on our evidence Vaso's has problems in the kitchen. A disappointing eating experience then, despite the excellent service - and hardly cheap.

                                                                                          We had a nice evening here on Sat. Food was good, we shared the whole fish which was cooked perfectly. We had a young server who was very busy but a most wonderful young man, who was most attentive to us throughout the evening. We enjoyed the evening.
