We had the best time at Whalebone, the service from Ash and the girls was wonderful. The owner is a lovely man with excellent knowledge of wine and the food. The food was incredible and we will be back!

A very enjoyable dining experience. My wife and I have been enjoying the food, service, wines and ambience of this wonderful restaurant since 1979. Last night we were accompanied by our daughter, her husband and their children. All of us were very impressed and look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely amazing experience. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The staff were wonderful. We requested a window seat as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the views were spectacular.

We were not happy with the entree which was Seared Scallops with vinaigrette....they were just cooked under the grill so weren't as nice & stuck to the shell.

Having eaten here several times over many years this was a poor experience. Over 1 hour for any food to arrive and then for the main courses to be served before the ordered starter. To be offered the starter at the same time was a little thoughtless. The green vegetable associated with the mains was undercooked and drenched in a sauce. The restaurant did try to put it right by not charging for the affogato deserts. Too many covers and not enough kitchen staff I suspect. This is usually one of the best restaurants in Port Macquarie but we were not the only diners to think that the service was a little below par last evening.

During our road trip north, we stopped over in Port Macquarie for the night and decided to dine at Whalebone restaurant. What a fantastic choice! From the moment we walked in, the whole experience was outstanding. Our waiter, Michael, was absolutely exceptional—his attention to detail and friendly service made our evening truly special. He recommended dishes that were spot on for each course, and every meal was delicious. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a long drive. We’re already planning our next visit with friends and can’t wait to enjoy another unforgettable meal at Whalebone!

Location is amazing on the river & very peaceful. The food was Okay & well seasoned. However the service was not up to standard especially from restaurant Manager, he was extremely rude & arrogant. This manner followed to his wait staff which was very disappointing, Will not go back until I here there are changes.
