Wow! We enjoyed an amazing dinner here tonight. The food reflected next level creativity. For starters, we had the uni arancini and a mixed ceviche on handcrafted crackers that took 4 hours(!) to make, per the server. Our group enjoyed the mussels, lamb burger, pappardelle pasta, and Mediterranean chicken salad. Each was a riot of flavors, and absolutely delicious. The food was only surpassed by the service. Staff really paid attention to the notes in my reservation requesting a quieter table and indicating we were trying to make it to the 7:30 symphony performance. Our star server Kevin’s enthusiasm for the menu was infectious. We followed his recommendations. And, he made every effort to ensure we completed our meal on time. He deserves a raise! We enjoyed our experience very much and plan to return to try the other menu items Kevin highlighted for us. Highly recommend!

Food was very good! Oysters, brie dish, and eggplant dish,were the highlights. Sadly, our server forgot to inform us their kitchen was closing so we never got a chance to order and try the entrees we wanted :( In addition: 1- they gave candles for other tables near us but not ours 🤷🏻‍♀️, would have been nice to get one for ambiance 2- was a bday celebration, was listed in reservation and mentioned at checkin, but there was no candle on the dessert we ordered. 🤷🏻‍♀️ for a restaurant of this caliber and price point, I expected better.

The food is well prepared and good quality. The service is good too. But the menu just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t feel like a fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese but rather a collection of some Japanese items and also some other Mediterranean items. As a result it feels like you choose to eat one type of cuisine or the other and then disregard the other items in the menu because it feels strange to order a Mediterranean beef patty after having sushi. The have all the other elements here. Good food prep and service. They just need to overhaul the menu.

Amir and Jason were amazing with description of the dishes. Chenin Blanc was excellent with most of the small plates. Tuna Tataki is excellent as well as the Uni Arancini. Lighting could use a bit of improvement. Service is knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely a hidden gem!

Wonderful experience, and they were able to accommodate my gluten intolerance easily. We are in Hayes Valley often for cultural events and this will be one of our top dining destinations.

Five of us went on a Wednesday night. The place was a little hard to find -- no signage, turns out it's inside a hotel (which is not obvious from its website). Service was extremely slow -- we almost ended up going to the bar to order cocktails because it took so long for anyone to come by to take our drink order. Appetizers came out very slowly also, with the oysters barely arriving before our mains. Seafood was all great, other dishes merely ok. Roasted cauliflower appetizer was too crunchy, not quite long enough in the oven. Chicken entree was meh -- that's what you get for not ordering seafood, I guess. Very lively atmosphere, which while energizing made it very hard to hear each other speak. All in all, somewhat disappointing.
