Y Sospan can be found just off the market square in Historic town Dolgellau. Dating back to 1606, Y Sospan has a rich past and there is plenty of charm to be found in this old stone and slate building.
Y Sospan serves food all day, from a hearty full Welsh breakfast in the mornings, coffee and homemade cake, lunches and a seasonal menu for evening meals. So, no matter what time day you are passing, there will always be something here for you.
Our menu is carefully thought out to reflect the best of this beautiful region, Snowdonia and prepared on site by our expert chefs.
We have plenty of seating, with downstairs providing a cosy place for a coffee with friends. Then upstairs we have our large restaurant, where you will find vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, a cosy fireplace and hints of the buildings history can be seen on our walls.
We pride ourselves in the freshest ingredients that we feel represent both the seasons and the region.

                                                      When we went this time it was Curry Night. The food was very nice. We have been before and had something on the normal menu. The food is lovely. The restaurant is nice and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very interesting history about the building. We would definitely recommend this place.

                                                      We had a lovely meal, service was great from the staff. I had the vegan curry which was lovely. Been a few times for food never fails me. Thanks once again.

                                                      This is a fab place to eat and if you can get the upstairs table by the window it is even better. My only criticism was that the menu we were offered was a "curry night" menu when; had been expecting and looking forward to their standard evening menu. Unfortunately their website did not show the curry night menu, not did it say that Friday nights are curry night. It is a nice curry but not what I was looking forward to.

                                                      Local restaurant in the heart of Dolgellau. Sit upstairs in the wonderful old courtroom packed with character. We enjoyed our steak dinner and fish which was beautifully cooked which doesn’t always happen. We would advise the server to get a notepad and write down orders. Always annoying when they forget something you’ve ordered because they didn’t write it down. We were welcomed warmly but I wouldn’t say the service was particularly attentive even though they weren’t busy. But we recommend a visit for good food and an amazing location
