Hidden away off of Kensington’s famed High Street, Yashin Sushi is an upmarket take on the popular open kitchen style of sushi restaurant. Seated around the central kitchen area, diners enjoy the spectacle of food being prepared in front of them, skill of sushi rolling displayed for all to see. If you can take your eyes off of the chefs, you’ll find yourself in an exceptionally modern dining room, all monochrome colour scheme and designer lighting. Yashin Sushi’s menu is made up of both traditional and contemporary sushi and sashimi, sensibly priced to reflect the extremely high quality of the ingredients that go in to every item.

Our sushi concept is “without soy sauce – but if you want to”. Of course, we can serve as much soy sauce as the diner desires; however, what we want to emphasise is the taste of the fish. Despite requesting, as a very regular customer, a table or bar space upstairs we were seated, for our date, downstairs next to a table with young chicken playing games and videos Lilly on their iPhones. This is not good. Exactly why I ask for upstairs. Food always food. Service excellent. Downstairs is not a good place to sit.

Our server Carina was amazing and we would go back just to see her but luckily the food is exceptional!

Pretty creative sushi. Nice place, very overpriced for what it is. I don’t know what good sushi usually costs in the UK so I don’t want to be overly critical, but for fellow Americans expect double what you would pay at home and probably not as good. Ambience and service were quite nice.

As always the food was fresh and of a high quality, cooked the way it was meant to be and served impeccably. The ambience this evening wasn't as good as I've known it to be, but it was perhaps a late dinner so the chefs at the bar were cleaning up more than preparing dishes. The waiting staff were serving very well, attentive and caring. Help with the menu was good and all aspects were explained. I will return for more Yashin Sushi delights as I regard the restaurant as a top Japanese food experience.

What a delightful place to enjoy my father’s birthday. Superb food and wine and even a thoughtful birthday message! Our waitress Karina was a particularly wonderful part of the experience

I'm a regular customer at Yashin. Its by far the best sushi in London! All the dishes are tasty and inventive. If your a sushi lover you have to go and try it.
