Yohei Sushi KAHALA is the second restaurant of Yohei Sushi Restaurant, opened in 1990 by Kazuto Obara, the founder and Sushi chef. Enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in a modern setting, our Omakase courses and seasonal à la carte dishes feature fresh ingredients sourced from Hawaii and directly from Japan.
We offer pairing with sake and wine for a complete experience.
Indulge in a unique Omakase course, beginning with our essential "Ichiban dashi" (golden first dashi) and experience our original dishes inspired by Hawaiian culinary culture.

We had a wonderful omakase experience at Yohei Kahala. We got to meet chef Kei who prepared and guided us through the meal. This is must for foodies.

最高に素敵なお料理とサービスでした。寿司シェフも楽しい方でカウンターに座っていてもとても楽しかったです。客人がお誕生日だったのですが、チョコレートのお心づかいとバースデーカードをいただき、スタッフの方たちにほっこり嬉しい気分になりました。大切なお客様を安心して連れていけます。

Yohei Sushi - Kahala was a magical and unforgettable experience! Each dish was aesthetically pleasing. They awakened our taste buds with delicious flavors. “Omotenashi” truly describes the service from every staff member. We felt as though we were in the classiest restaurant in Japan, receiving the best meal and service. Thank you very much, amazing staff at Yohei Sushi - Kahala! We hope to visit you again soon!

We had an excellent dining experience in the dining area. The food was excellent, with good-quality ingredients, and the presentation added to the pleasant dining experience. Service was professional and courteous. We had the basic $120 set menu, which was well worth the price for a superb overall value.

I usually do not write reviews….. I only recently discovered Yohei Kahala on my last trip home as my parents love Japanese food, and many of their favorite local restaurants have recently been disappointing. I must say it is such a blessing to have found such a lovely Japanese restaurant close to their home that my very discerning parents actually love!! The food is impeccable, the service is lovely and the atmosphere is serene & beautiful. Yohei checks all their boxes. Since I do not live locally, I am eternally grateful that they now have a favorite place to go for lunch that meets all of their expectations and more. Mahalo for the calming peace you bring.
