We’re a Modern Japanese restaurant located in Surry Hills. We pride ourselves on serving the best Japanese cuisine in Sydney, prepared by our expert chefs using the freshest local and sustainable ingredients where possible. We’re your fun neighbourhood Japanese restaurant located on Crown Street in the heart of bustling Surry Hills, Sydney. At Zushi we love our customers and our customers love our relaxed approach, coupled with delicious food, friendly service and dining options in our buzzy restaurant, upstairs mezzanine and open air courtyard. We had a beautiful time during the happy hour - the most delicious gyoza and yummy drinks! Thank you! A great meal late afternoon before we carried on for more drinks. Just perfect!

The setting is lovely and convenient. food is delicious maybe a little too salty. My favourite is the eggplant dish, that is superb. The service is ordinary with waiters ignoring you and failing to inform of the extra dollars charged for paying with a card and then acting ignorant about it.

Overall - it was alright. sashimi was fresh and the sushi was somewhat authentic. However, it is deafening inside and waiters have a hard time paying attention to you. And for the price I paid, I think I can find a restaurant that is more authentic and of better quality. The sushi rice was clearly machine-made and it just didn't have the extra mile I expect from mid to high price range restaurants.

Our chefs spend tireless hours prepping our food to give customers delicious experiences. In regards to our rice, we do follow traditional Japanese sushi rice methods, we utilise the Japanese Oke to get our rice to the perfect consistency across the wide variety of sushi we offer. Very nice staffs members, I have some food allergies that aren’t easy for a Japanese restaurant but I wanted to make my partner happy by eating one of his favourite food, and I was able to eat différents dishes and I really appreciate that, they were helpful of what I can eat or not, smile from the minute one until the end. We will come back, thanks for the nice experience

Unfortunately we couldn’t eat the sashimi. When I asked the server what the fish was, they said there are 4 fish there. The salmon is definitely farmed, so I assume the rest of the fish is low grade too. Ambience is great. Cocktails were good. There are better options close by.

This is the second time we have eaten at the restaurant, everything was just great, the meals , service etc. Would have no trouble in recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for Japanese cuisine.
