Bottaio consistently provides a quality experience including their welcoming attitude, professional and friendly servers, delicious food with generous portions and good drink choices. The value is outstanding. Besides being a great choice for a Saturday night out with friends, we also enjoy going for a weekday lunch or dinner. A gem in Libertyville!

I was disappointed. Seats are uncomfortable. Dark and difficult to read menu. Soup came out room temperature. Pasta was not very flavorful. The mussels with spicy sause was not spicy. I have been here before but the last 2 times it has disappointed. I am hoping it's just 2 off nights.

Had the whitefish margarita dish. Was awesome! It was a special but all the food was very well done. We eat here about twice a month.

Great overall experience. Our waiter Kyle was exceptional per usual. The food was spot on. My only complaint is how much the prices have increased recently. Have been going there for over 10 years. Always a good meal but will definitely visit less frequently due to the cost. Over $200 for 2 is just a bit much. Other than that I’d highly recommend it.

Ristorante Botallo has officially become one of my favorite spots! After an amazing experience on my first visit, I had to return, and the second visit didn’t disappoint. The food, ambiance, and service are all top-notch. The fried calamari was hands down the best I’ve ever had at any Italian restaurant, perfectly crispy and flavorful. My go-to dish is now the linguini scampi prosecco—absolutely delicious and comes with a side of soup or salad, which was also very good. My wife ordered the chicken parmigiana, and it was simply to die for. To complement our meal, I had a glass of chardonnay, chilled to perfection, and one of the best I’ve had. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Overall, I highly recommend Ristorante Botallo. Great food, warm ambiance, and attentive service—I’ll definitely be back again soon!”
