Roots mission is to create delicious food from fresh, local ingredients. Vermont offers an agricultural bounty of flavorful produce, meat, dairy and other food products that are staples of the Roots menu.

Roots is committed to providing affordable meals from minimally processed, locally grown ingredients, including organic crops and humanely raised, pasture fed livestock.

We are proud to partner with local providers Boardman Hill Farm, Hathaway Farm, Woods Market, Blue Ledge Farm, and other smaller scale produce, dairy and maple syrup providers.

Roots is that place you never are wrong for going to. The food and drinks are not only amazing, but insanely consistent every single time. The staff are inviting, knowledgeable, and simply on top of their game every single day. As someone who has travelled far and wide, Roots should be on everyone’s list of go-to’s. In terms of restaurants in the greater Rutland area, this should always be a first choice on anyone’s list.

My favorite place for dinner in Rutland, whether alone or with a group. Particularly recommend the salmon. Excellent bartender. Friendly accommodating staff.

The perfect spot for dinner and drinks before a show at the paramount. The servers were awesome and friendly. The restaurant seemed pretty full, and yet the service was quick! I highly recommend the sweet and spicy margarita, and the cod entree. Both were excellent. The cod was served with fresh spinach and micro greens, a cilantro type sauce, scallion rice and corn/chorizo relish. All of the flavors complimented each other well and the portions were generous. We worried whether a 5:45 reservation ahead of a 7pm concert would leave enough time, but we had half an hour to spare in the end. It was great. Thanks, Roots!

Great food, great service and large portions for your buck. We had a very enjoyable dinner and will definitely be coming back.

We had the salmon. It was delicious! My favorite app is the pork belly! Crème brûlée for dessert!! Love!!

We were given a very friendly welcome. Taken to our table immediately. Lovely linen napkins! Very relaxed and yet super caring. Delicious food and a warm and friendly ambience.
