We have enjoyed Sophia’s for many years. Every year we have dinner there on my wife’s birthday, which was the 22nd. Unfortunately, it was not one of our better experiences. It took a little while for our waitress to come to the table and gave us the menus. She never mentioned that were specials in addition to the menu. My wife and I both ordered the Lamb Chops and after a very long wait we were served the appetizer, Lollipop Lamb Chops. She apologized and acknowledged her mistake. She reordered the dinner Lamb Chops and they were delicious and cooked perfectly. She asked us about dessert and we requested two Baklava to go. She brought it and said “it was on her to apologize”. She didn’t get that correct either. There was only one!

Sofia’s restaurant is excellent all year long but at Christmas it is the most beautifully decorated restaurant you could ever find! What a Christmas atmosphere! The food is always excellent as it was last night. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. Our waitress last night was Arbesa. We had our daughter, Son-in-law and our 2 Grandchildren ages 6 and 3. The kids love Arbesa and another waitress, Gabby. These two women are so good to us and our grandchildren! Such attention! This place really has their act together. Everything is so nicely set up. Elegant decor, friendly staff, expert service and delicious food. Wish they could have a bit more options for younger kids, and wish it were a little quieter, but I'm not complaining. The place was crowded, but service was attentive and quick. Food was delicious with generous portions. Loved the flambe of saganaki as a starter. Main course of seafood and pasta was excellent and deserts were really tasty. Nice to see such a classy operation doing so well in Margate.

Parking can be an issue at times. The food and service is outstanding. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Grilled octopus was perfectly done.
