Housed in the historic 8th St Marketplace, Solid Grill & Bar, focuses on local food, local beer & local wines. We feature eleven local beers on tap; a selection that changes based on the availability of the best offerings from the local brewers. The food is both classic and daring. The menu is wide enough to please any guest while narrow enough to ensure quality and freshness. Vaulted ceilings, brick arches, natural wood, and warm tones make Solid Grill and Bar the perfect dining getaway. The walls are decked with local art that has a distinctly Boise theme. Solid has two happy hours daily from four to six pm and ten to midnight with half priced drinks and a $1 off our unique appetizer menu. Solid stays open late! Serving dinner until midnight Sunday-Thursday & Friday and Saturday Solid stays up extra late serving full menu until 2 am in the morning. The server was incredibly rude. They seemed to hate the entire interaction and they were incredibly inattentive and absent. Taking our orders seemed to be a burden and getting us the appropriate amount of silverware was never done. We had to grab more settings from a separate table and get our own straws from the serving station. The food was good but the service was the worst I have ever had. The server seemed burdened by doing the bare minimum. In addition to all of this i try to be very understanding when i come to restaurants as i work in one myself. I know that a server can be very busy. Although the service that o received was absolutely terrible. I doubt I will ever come back. Definitely would not recommend. Go have dinner anywhere else and I guarantee you'll have better service

Food was good, parking was good, the atmosphere was so so and server could have been a little better. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either. Just kind of average. Had to wait to get silverware and the food took a little too long. The waitress was nice. Overall I love that they take reservations and they had music outside which was a nice e touch. I will go back as the menu was diverse and it was a good value.

The dinner was delicious and we did a Valentines package and everything was presented very well. It was very busy there so we had to wait a little bit, but it was worth the wait and our server Ariana was really super sweet.

Arrived for our reservation and the place was not busy at all, so we definitely didn’t need to reserve a table. We got seated and saw our server when she took our order, when she dropped off our drinks and our food, and not again until we had to request our bill. It’s a good thing we didn’t want a second drink. Our food was terrible. My husband got the steak salad, requested medium rare, and the steak was super small and grey like it had been microwaved. I ordered the special of the day, fish and chips, and at 5:30 when we dined they didn’t have the special anymore. I then ordered the BLT redux sandwich. It’s was so extremely salty. With tip, our bill was over $90 for 2 drinks, an entree salad, and a sandwich, all of which was really subpar.

Everything was great. The only negative was it took about 15 minutes to get someone to come to our table when we arrived to even get our drinks ordered. We flagged down another wait staff person to find out what was going on. He eventually waited on us. Maybe confusion as to who had that table. We were there at 5:00 so not super busy yet. Food was fantastic!

We ordered our food, and the waitress came back to the table and told us that they had not thawed the chicken, so it was going to take a little longer. An hour later we got our food. No compensation offered and barely an apology. Then the food was marginal once it finally arrived.

Food and drinks were excellent. The prices were very reasonable and portion sizes were generous (the nachos, omg). Our group of four got there earlier than our reserved time but they seated us as quickly as they could. Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
