Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint is the continuation of a deep history of music, food, drink and socializing in the South. Located in the former Macy’s building in the heart of downtown Atlanta at the iconic 200 Peachtree St. address, Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint brings to the city a place to relax while enjoying live entertainment and exceptional cuisine. A per person entertainment fee will be applied to your bill, this does not apply on Sunday's. Historically, juke joints originated in the rural outskirts of many southern towns to give African American communities a place to kick back and unwind after a long week of work. Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint represents diverse culture, featuring music across all genres and popular hits throughout American history. An imaginative menu makes Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint a staple in Atlanta’s downtown restaurant scene and the allure of traditional juke joints is showcased in the restaurant’s design.

The service was painfully slow. The live music wasn’t lively at all. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced for the quality. There was an issue with the bill charging more for a meal than what is on the menu, the manager had to fix the bill, then walked passed our table without saying a word, no apology, nothing. The only redeeming factor was our server Gray was a joy! I will never come back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I went today as a birthday treat to myself. I made a reservation and said it was for my birthday. That was the only disappointment was that I heard them shot out another person for their birthday but not me. Otherwise the food, service, and ambience was amazing. I want to try a Friday or Saturday for a little more upbeat music though. Although, the music today was PERFECT for Sunday brunch so no complaints about Mr. jonez. I will definitely return.

Our server, Gray, was extremely patient, friendly, and very attentive to our needs. I was with my mother and two 12-year olds. I appreciated his service. Everyone was happy with their food. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of dessert choices. There were 5 to 6 options listed on the menu and only 2 of those choices were available. I was looking forward to trying out the bread pudding. The entertainment had just begun. From what I heard, he was giving a good performance.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Strong drinks. Had shrimp ‘n grits and got hush puppies for the table. The only annoyance was that it wasn’t clear WHEN the live music would be playing. I can see how it would be annoying to pay the entertainment fee if the band wasn’t playing. We ended up only hearing a couple songs during our time and that was probably because we ate slowly. Our table was at 6:15 and the music didn’t play until a few minutes after 7. I will definitely return but just make a later reservation.

All of the hostess were very nice. I wasn’t to thrilled about the set up inside. The table and chairs weren’t comfortable. Kinda felt like food court table seating. The food was seasoned well and ok. Not so thrilled about the parking. It was a once experience and it was good enough for that time.

Visited Sweet Georgia’s last night. I was a little skeptical because of the upcharge for the live band. $10 per person. But I must admit, the vibe was good, and the music was good, although the fried green tomato’s need some work. Our server Will was very attentive and the food was good. I would recommend trying this place.
