We visited to celebrate NYE and were excited to try the tomahawk steak and grilled octopus but were disappointed to learn they had sold out. We did feel a bit rushed to order, as it seemed like the kitchen was closing early for New Year’s. However, we trusted our waitress’s recommendations and are so glad we did! The short rib, branzino, and chile rellenos were exquisite. The atmosphere was lovely, the cucumber margaritas were top-notch, and the service was incredibly attentive. Ultimately, it wasn’t a big deal, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The front of the house needs a bit of a touch. We had reservations inside, and upon arrival were advised that they had no availability only outside. We attempted but hey it was my birthday, I had reserved, and sitting on a damp chair with Miami humidity wasn’t something I wanted to settle. Inquired about the wait for inside, and the cold approach with no reasonable explanation wasn’t very pleasant. It kind of ruined the New Year’s vibe. Once inside Alicia made my evening much better, attentive and the food was delicious. The lava cake is a bit dry for our taste. Other than that, cute Mexican spot.

The food is outstanding, as usual, though it seems to have taken a big hike in price. The service from Jose ( the young one) was very much appreciated. A great way to say good bye to the year, with Chapulines and all.

Food was very good, service was excellent. They charged me $2.50 for some extra jalapeño. Talk about petty! Guacamole appetizer was really small and buried in chips. This restaurant can do better. It has a great location. But why serve insects on the menu? Is that really a big seller? Seems like fajitas would do better. Just a suggestion.

Besides the chips and salsa, all food is very bland and not even mediocre. They automatically add a 20% service charge where I find it does not go to the waiter only restaurant. Drinks are incredibly overpriced, will mot be returning many better options in Miami even Coral Gables.
