Teatro, or ‘theatre’ in Italian, pays homage to our restaurants location in the Calgary arts and theatre district. Celebrating 25 years in 2018, Teatro has been serving contemporary Italian cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere. Housed in the historic Dominion Bank (est.1911), our award winning wine cellar hosts over 10,000 bottles and features 1100 labels, with a focus on the fine wines of Italy and Bordeaux. Enjoy artisanal cocktails at our stylish bar, reserve a table for your next business meeting, or indulge in a 5 course Chef's Tasting Menu . We also offer both private and semi-private dining options for large groups.

    Food and service were both excellent, the sommelier picked out the perfect wine for us as well. We tried the 5 course tasting menu and everything was phenomenal, especially the dessert (the white chocolate mousse with cucumber sorbet). Overall, an excellent evening and I will definitely return.

    One of our fav places, to be sure. Gorgeous roasted butternut squash salad. The service seemed a bit disjointed this time, but was still good. My gnocchi was nothing special, though the parm sauce was delish. The beef striploin was good. We love dining on Sundays as there is free corkage so those nice bottles get the food they deserve. 😄 The space lends itself to a lovely dining ambience, which we always enjoy.

    Outstanding service from everyone. Pickerel and rack of lamb were perfectly prepared. If you want a special evening Teatro delivers.

    Wow is all we kept saying and kept hearing around us. Everything was phenomenal. Bread service, the wine the sommelier recommended, the appetizers, entrees - no notes. We already have plans to return and can’t wait to eat our way through the menu. Can’t recommend enough.

    Too salty. Our group ordered 6 main dishes and all of them were too salty. The steak was chewy and cold. Especially the Teatro lasagna, it was just double salty. Service was good. The food was not worthy for the money. 2 stars are for the appetizers because they are pretty good.
