"The Canny Man's in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through 5 generations of the Kerr family. As famous chef Rick Stein said 'The Canny Man's is the best pub in the world.'
The establishment is well known far and wide for it’s quirky nature and ‘never’ changing décor. The interior sees every nook and cranny filled with everything from moose heads to muskets, sheet music to stuffed animals. A genuinely one of a kind bar and restaurant. The restaurant specialises in the best Scottish produce with a strong focus on local suppliers. Alongside this they have a well stocked gantry of over a 200 malt whiskies and a large wine list. The Canny Man's is very much a unique experience in Edinburgh and not to be missed."

Very quirky pub with lots of atmosphere. The menu is unusual- large seafood cold plate / open sandwich option or smaller dinner menu which you can mix & match Food very good - service was very friendly if a little slow because they were so busy. A must visit if in the area

I have been here several times over the years and they are consistently wonderful. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is great.

Came highly recommended but not the best experience. Great service provided for the locals on the day but poor for us who weren't. Great place that promised so much, but we'll not be returning with that level of service on the day. Or for the vegan selection, which was minimal.

Wonderful setting for an evening out. Food is terrific and can highly recommend both the haggis and the Fisherman’s stew. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
