Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant's on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille's wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 - 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required.     They were keeping a wine for me that I had saved, and they opened it this time without asking me, ruining it. The person who opened it is one of the waiters I had said multiple times previously “I’m still saving the Caymus 2020 Petit Syrah, so not that one” so he knew, or should have known, I was saving it. When I noticed, I offered to pay and said get another bottle of that and call me when you have it. Also, and this is a chronic problem, they don’t rinse the glasses, they often smell and taste like soap; for a place with good wines, they really shouldn’t make customers drink a mixture of wine and soap. I haven’t discovered this at any other restaurant or bar. I’ve been loyal to this place for years, but this was a very disappointing experience. Anyone who goes in here: sniff your wine glasses and any empty glass before they fill it, so you don’t drink soap.

    We have gone to the Boston Capital grille location a few times. We always enjoyed it. This time I found the food to be just ok to awful. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese way too salty. Took it off the bill. My scallop dinner was ok to blan. We won’t be returning anytime to soon. Especially at the prices we paid.

    We’ve been to the Capital Grille Boston location many, many times for special occasions, ordinary dinners and for NYE and unfortunately this was the lease enjoyable experience we have ever had. The prices for steaks have gone way up which I understand and I am willing to pay for the value but last night I don’t think it was worth it. First, the blond woman maitre d’ was a little snippy when I went to host stand to ask if we would be seated soon. It was 7:40 and our reservation was at 7:30. I didn’t realize that someone else in my party had also inquired earlier. She made it very clear that “we just told someone else in your party that the table isn’t ready.” I didn’t appreciate her tone, and wouldn’t expect it at the Capital Grille where usually the people are overly courteous. For the table, no confetti??? It looked like a regular night there with nothing to show the festiveness of NYE. I was expecting an offer of champagne or something, anything to make the NYE experience more special, but NOTHING! I ordered the Kona bone-in strip and it was cooked perfectly but lacked the incredible bursting flavor that I am used to from your kitchen and would expect for a $76 steak. The creamed spinach also lacked the richness that I am used it. Same for the au gratin potatoes. Overall, the dinner was lack luster. The crème brûlée was delicious but maybe a special dessert offering would have been nice to make the dinner a little more memorable. Honestly, I’m not sure if I will return to your restaurant. One thing about the Capital Grille brand is consistency and sadly you missed the mark. Next time, I’ll take my $650 tab elsewhere.

    Dinner was delicious and, as always, beyond perfection! Service was phenomenal and management of this restaurant, on a busy New Year’s Eve, was a like a fine tuned machine! From Valet service, to the hostesses, wait staff, bar tenders, and management, they are true professionals! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

    Food was mediocre at best. One and done for us. I don’t think we would return unless it was free.
