The Duncombe Arms is a beautiful, traditional country pub situated at the heart of the lovely rural village of Ellastone on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border. Located on the edge of the Peak District near the towns of Ashbourne and Uttoxeter it is a great place to visit providing a delightful setting in which to enjoy a drink, some lovely food, as well as a chat with friends or family.

Come inside and enjoy a roaring log fire, sample our excellent range of beers and wines or enjoy fabulous food from our award-winning chef Scott Law. Or in the summer you can laze in our large garden overlooking the view to Worthy Island Wood.

    Stunningly good food (& wine) - absolutely top class, at very reasonable prices, & the service was truly excellent too. Could not recommend more highly!

    Accommodated my request for my partners birthday - the chef that brought out our starters wished him happy birthday and a small happy birthday treat came alongside our desserts. The food was quickly served and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was beautifully presented.

    We had the 3 course market lunch which was superb, good value and in lovely surroundings. We have been here several times before and will undoubtedly go again. When the food at most British pubs seems to consist of burgers or reheated ready meals, it is a refreshing change to enjoy some proper cooking of fresh food at a reasonable price.

    As excellent as we would expect from the Duncolm Arms, especially as the market menu was available prompting us to travel 32 miles for lunch.

    We had a wonderful dinner and overnight stay at The Duncombe Arms. Everything about our visit was 1st class. Top quality food and drink at a reasonable price, served by excellent staff in beautiful surroundings. The room was amazing, beautifully designed and appointed. We will certainly return.
