The Gruene Door Restaurant is located in beautiful Gruene Lake Village in New Braunfels, Texas. We are Gruene’s only casual, fine dining restaurant combining the best in food, service, and atmosphere. Every menu item is prepared 100% in house by our chefs.

Open for lunch and dinner, we are the perfect destination for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration, private party, lunch with friends, or just a casual night out.

When booking the patio, please mind the weather. If the indoor restaurant is fully booked, we may not be able to accommodate a request to move indoors.

When we arrived we were greeted by name and were grateful to find out that we were seated inside. The staff was as amazing as the food and wine 😜. Thank you, Greg and Lisa Williams Happy New Year!

                                                                                        Always enjoy a stop at The Gruene Door! The New Years Eve specials all looked so yummy we settled on filet and lobster to share with a bearnaise jalapeño sauce that was to die for! We did a last minute overnight in Gruene for NYE so didn’t have a reservation. The only constructive criticism I have is when we stopped in personally to see if they could squeeze a party of 2 in on the early side they said it had to be right now which was too early and when we asked if they could just take our name and give us a call if something opened up while we walked around, they said it was doubtful since there were so many on the open table wait list. We left thinking we would have to find somewhere else but as soon as we walked out the door I looked on Open Table and secured a reservation for an hour later 🤷‍♀️ So it all worked out for an early dinner! But while we were eating there, there were several tables free the whole time. We suspect they didn’t have the staff which is why they turned us away soo quickly. My recommendation is that whomever is at the front be more welcoming. That’s all! Did not taint our experience, we love that place. Oh and our waitress was a rockstar! The only reason for 4 stars is for the hostess station NOT our waitress!

                                                                                        We were celebrating our 29th Wedding Anniversary and couldn’t have dined at a better location. Wonderful and friendly service. We had the Shrimp Gratin for our appetizer and we both ordered the Coconut Curry Duck Breast on Linguini. It was scrumptious. We will definitely be going again

Great food, friendly service, perfect ambiance and lighting (not too dark like other restaurants), and located in a beautiful area of Gruene. We will be back!
