The Gruene Door Restaurant is located in beautiful Gruene Lake Village in New Braunfels, Texas. We are Gruene’s only casual, fine dining restaurant combining the best in food, service, and atmosphere. Every menu item is prepared 100% in house by our chefs.

Open for lunch and dinner, we are the perfect destination for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration, private party, lunch with friends, or just a casual night out.

When booking the patio, please mind the weather. If the indoor restaurant is fully booked, we may not be able to accommodate a request to move indoors.

                                                                                        We had a great Valentines dinner here. Our table was outside in front of the warm fireplace. I don’t even need to wear a jacket. Great service and delicious food!

                                                                                        Once again the Gruene Door was an exceptional experience. The food was scrumptious. I had the beef tip pasta, very delicious. The meet was tender and the mushrooms gave it a great flavor. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was wonderful. Loved the smooth jazz that played in the background. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. A wonder birthday celebration.

Didn’t ask if it was a special occasion. Very dry personality. Out of wine on the list. Didn’t ask about soup or salad. Won’t be back.

                                                                                        We had reservations to celebrate my wife's birthday. We invited another couple to share in the celebration. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and warmly by the hostess who seated us at a great table. The server came out right away and took our drink orders. The drinks arrived and were all spot on! Orders were taken and the food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time, giving us time to chat and enjoy our drinks without feeling rushed. Everyone raved about the quality and presentation of each dish. we didn't do appetizers wanting to save room for the delicious desserts we saw as we passed by another table on the way in. Portions were appropriate and left us feeling like the value was certainly there. The bread pudding and creme brule were excellent and finished off an incredible meal and outstanding evening. We will most certainly be back soon.

                                                                                        The ribeye steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. It seriously rivaled Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I look forward to going back again.

                                                                                        We have eaten there many times - always great service and food. Last night our waiter forgot to place our appetizer order - after about 30 minutes I asked about it- then my husband order chicken piccata and asked for no green beans - but roasted potatoes. Green beans were on his plate and he asked the waiter who said he would get the potatoes. We all had finished eating by the time the potatoes showed up. Very frustrating last night .
