The Gruene Door Restaurant is located in beautiful Gruene Lake Village in New Braunfels, Texas. We are Gruene’s only casual, fine dining restaurant combining the best in food, service, and atmosphere. Every menu item is prepared 100% in house by our chefs.

Open for lunch and dinner, we are the perfect destination for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration, private party, lunch with friends, or just a casual night out.

When booking the patio, please mind the weather. If the indoor restaurant is fully booked, we may not be able to accommodate a request to move indoors.

                                                                                        The Gruene Door is my go to choice for romantic escape or celebrating a special occasion. The food is delicious, the presentation exquisite, and the service excellence. Beautiful experience repeatedly and enormous value for the money. You won't be disappointed. On many evenings the patio with wood burning fireplace adds to the romance! We consistently have excellent servers -- Lauren especially shines and is sensitive to honor the guests' unique needs. We come again and again, always our first choice!

                                                                                        So give Gruene Door a Standing Ovation! Celebrated my parent’s 61st anniversary tonight. The entire experience was more than excellence! We started with the goat cheese tomato bruschetta drizzled with a balsamic reduction served with grilled rustic bread medallions, I had them bring out a little extra balsamic reduction. Other items we had were venison sausage soup, crab cakes, smoked bacon & pea risotto (risotto of the day), a poblano pepper stuffed with black beans, street corn, spinach and squash with a side of blackened shrimp. Dad had a sea bass and lobster tail combo served over mushroom risotto and a side of asparagus. Of course we couldn’t leave without trying the creme brûlée. It may be the best crème brûlée I ever had. Everything was outstanding! We can’t wait to go back! Sabrina, Jo & Jimmy Reeves 2/18/2024

                                                                                        We had a great Valentines dinner here. Our table was outside in front of the warm fireplace. I don’t even need to wear a jacket. Great service and delicious food!

                                                                                        Once again the Gruene Door was an exceptional experience. The food was scrumptious. I had the beef tip pasta, very delicious. The meet was tender and the mushrooms gave it a great flavor. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was wonderful. Loved the smooth jazz that played in the background. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. A wonder birthday celebration.
