The House of William and Merry serves contemporary American cuisine prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients procured from local farms, providing casual fine dining at a reasonable price. Chef-owned by the husband and wife team, Merry Catanuto and William Hoffman, who live on the property, the restaurant is a remodeled farmhouse on the edge of central Hockessin. Dine in a comfortable home atmosphere in one of the two dining rooms, the porch, or the bar. When you arrive, you can see right into the all new, modern kitchen. Full bar service is available including wines by the glass, microbrews on tap, and specialty drinks. Or, take a walk around back to see the herb and vegetable gardens.

Tuesday through Saturday we serve lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we serve brunch followed by a prix fix supper in the evening.

WOW! Can’t wait to go back! I knew from the incredible reviews we wouldn’t be disappointed, but it still exceeded our expectations. The wine, food and service were all top notch. Wouldn’t have changed anything from our experience. We even got the chance to meet one of the owners on our way out. William was very friendly and passionate about the restaurant. We just found our new favorite local restaurant!

Wonderful dining experience. Lovely waiter named Eric. We had our almost 2year old grandson. They were so accommodating. High chair. Made him a wonderful grilled cheese. Made my vegetarian husband a pasta dish. The pork chops, fish, pate were all spectacular. Other diners were kind to our grandson. The entire evening was perfect. In a world gone haywire, it was such a welcome respite: good food, civilized people, comfortable surroundings.

The Food and Presentation exceeded our expectations! Our server, Chet was knowledgeable, engaging and excellent. This was our 1st time and my wife and I are already planning on coming back.

Had an excellent valentines dinner at the house of William and merry! Our server was awesome in his recommendations and was not overbearing in checking in on us often. We tried their house Syrah wine, which was excellent, and HIGHLY recommend the duck wings as an appetizer. will be going back!

Outstanding meal (as always!). Everything is top notch--service, ambiance, and most importantly, the food itself. Not cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. Try it and you won't be let down.

Wonderful presentation, quality and creativity of all dishes. The foie gras appetizer was an unexpected gem. Both of our entrees, duck breast and rockfish, were plated with care and visually appealing. The flavor of both dishes was noteworthy with complex flavors that did not detract from the base of the dish. Each protein was perfectly cooked. For dessert, don't miss the "Tuxedo", a decadent whirlwind of both flavor and textures.
