Wine and dine in the rustic elegance of our cabin or outside on our patio. Our talented crew are dedicated to feeding the hungry people of Davis and the surrounding communities, recently receiving a Zagat Rating for food of 27, and voted Best Restaurant in Davis by the readers of Sacramento Magazine. We have also been called by Sunset Magazine has also called us quintessential Davis dining experience. Our seasonal menu has something new weekly to freshen the compact yet diversified selections, specializing in sustainable fresh fish, natural meats, local seasonal produce and house made desserts. Our reasonably priced, exclusively California wine list has something for every palate. MONDAVI VISITORS: We are just five short minutes away. Be sure to check early in the week for reservations.                   Fantastic service and the food was superb! They have a large GF menu and the staff take special care to ensure the food is GF if need be. Thank you!!

                  The three of us ordered different main course and all were excellent, as well as a couple of deserts. Very nice, unfussy service and setting. Pricing on the deluxe side.

                  Mustard Seed is by far the best restaurant in Davis. Excellent food and service. The French dip and Po' Boy sandwiches are absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Outstanding service, definitely the best service in Davis, super courteous and friendly without trying too hard.

                  I had requested a table inside. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated outside. It was drafty so asked for a table inside. They seemed rather hesitant which seemed strange as we were the first guests there. We’ve eaten here many times for special occasions and were always very pleased with everything. We wanted to have a nice dining experience to celebrate our anniversary. The food and service was good but something was lacking this time…customer care perhaps.

                  My dish was fine, the short rib ragu. However, my wife had the duck breast, which unfortunately was mainly fat and gristle. If ordering the duck breast, I recommend asking if it is a lean cut the night you are there. Fairly expensive as well.

                  A cozy restaurant that's a Davis staple. Enthusiastic service and delicious food. Enjoyed the tomato bisque with puff pastry, salad of greens with light dressing and crab cakes. A delightful, unique spot.
