The Rotunda serves afternoon tea seven days a week beginning at 2:30 p.m. (1:30p.m. Sundays). A tea experience reservation is necessary to enjoy our daily tea service. Any dietary restrictions must be noted at least 24 hours in advance of your reservation.

The Rotunda specializes in evening events including wedding receptions, corporate and convention dinners, cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners and holiday parties. Holiday parties are especially beautiful with the four story Neiman Marcus Holiday Tree rising up through the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer guests an intimate bird's eye view of Union Square.
Private party faciliteiten
The Rotunda can accommodate up to 160 seated guests with a dance floor, 200 seated and 225 standing for evening events. There is a private elevator on Geary Street that takes guests directly to the restaurant after the store is closed.

We had the best experience with the best server Dahn. We were celebrating a birthday and everyone treated our friend so nicely! The food from the start was delicious! Beautifully presented! Just outstanding in every way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Tina Tartare stack. The addition of crunchy pear to the avocado was wonderfully creative. We’ve been coming for years and hope you never change the consommé popover with strawberry butter. Delicious as well as elegant.

Service at the table by the main waiter was fine. The busing staff, however, needs to learn how to properly clear the table and deliver the dishes (I.e. don’t reach across the guests’ face when you should come around and serve from the left and clear from the right).

If you want to dine at the Rotunda make your reservation well in advance and specifically ask for a window seat. You overlook Union Square. Easiest access to the Rotunda is on Geary with elevator direct to the restaurant. Enjoy the popovers and your meal. Always happy to dine at the Rotunda for the experience.

I always love going to The Rotunda as a special treat, Their signature consommé and popovers (with strawberry butter) is like a Welcome Back "hug". Their service was attentive and consistent. The baked Brie and garlic in phyllo was DELICIOUS, and both of us LOVED our short ribs with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. I will come back, time after time.

I've wanted to do a high tea service at The Rotunda since I was a little girl. Firstly, the High Tea service begins at 2:30 pm, we had a 2:45 pm reservation (for two). Upon entering, I saw a sign and was told by the hostess desk that a private event was starting at 3:00 pm. There was no mention of the private event on the website nor were we notified by email. I asked if we needed to reschedule and was told that it wouldn't be necessary, and we were promptly seated. This, however, immediately created anxiety as we immediately felt rushed to finish the service. I worked in the service industry for over 15 years, so I know the drill, the staff was on edge, and everything felt haphazardly executed. I felt a little misled by the size of the scones; they weren't full-size as I had seen in the gallery but minuscule one-bite cookies. Nothing about the service felt special; our teapots and water glasses were never refilled, and no one came to check on us once. Honestly, I felt like I could have recreated the same experience using store-bought mini desserts and scones. That was the level of quality. The Rotunda itself is gorgeous, the only standout of the experience was the fresh popover and butter at the beginning of the service. Maybe my expectations were too high for Neiman Marcus? Alas my search for a solid High Tea in the Bay continues.
