The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar, named for Revolutionary War hero, General Francis Marion, features classic Southern cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Executive Chef Heyward Davis and Chef De Cuisine Daniel James create regional specialties that emphasize farm to table practices using locally grown fruits and vegetables with respect to the traditional beloved flavors and techniques of the Lowcountry.

Known for its award-winning Shrimp and Grits, The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar overlooks historic Marion Square Park and is popular with both locals and visitors to Charleston. Guests can enjoy live piano Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm - 9pm.

The restaurant also has a private dining room, the Parkview, that seats thirty and overlooks King Street and Marion Square Park. This intimate space is perfect for private events and small parties.

Masks are recommended for fully vaccinated customers. Consistent with CDC guidelines, unvaccinated customers should wear masks.

                                                                        My friend and I ate at a bar table because we liked the ambiance. We both had the She Crab Soup which I think is the best in town, and had a half Bibb salad which was also excellent. This is our second time eating there and highly recommend this restaurant. Everything I’ve eaten there has been excellent.

The manager actively helped everyone on the floor because they were busy - so nice to see this kind of leadership!!! The bread. AMAZING The pear salad. AMAZING The shrimp& grits. AMAZING The burger. AMAZING The butter cake. OUT OF THIS WORLD When friends come to visit, this is where we take them.

                                                                        The waiter didn't tell us about specials. Took my glass to refill with water and left it on the other side of the table. My husband ordered chicken with honey sauce, which was not on plate. The waiter said he would go get but never returned with sauce.

                                                                        One of the best meals I have ever had. I started off with the pear salad. It was light and absolutely delicious. I asked the waiter if I could substitute the sides to the short rib. I asked for mashed potatoes, green beans and fried onions. Not only was the food amazing, the presentation was beautiful. Chef layered the ribs and sauce on the potatoes, then topped with fried onions. He placed the green beans all around the plate. It was a beautiful presentation. My husband ordered the pork chop for dinner and he said it was one of the best. For lunch the next day, I ordered the pear salad again, and John had the shrimp and grits. Both were amazing. Thank you Chef Terrell Funney for delicious meals!
