When most restaurants in the Wolf Rd. and Latham areas were packed on a Saturday night, the Tavern was almost empty, save for us, another couple and a few people at the bar. It was nice to be able to eat out without shouting in a noisy restaurant. Good pub food, nice colonial ambiance. Looks like they were beginning to decorate for the holidays. Good, prompt service. Will definitely go again.

Enjoyed sitting in the glass patio overlooking the tree and Central Park!!! My girls enjoyed the quiet time!!! A great place to stop and rest and enjoy people watching!

While my burger was decent (the meat needed to be seasoned), I felt this restaurant was not OpenTable-worthy. This restaurant is the bar at an independent hotel which has seat yourself dining and no hostess station. Therefore, when I arrived, I announced my reservation to the bartender. She looked like she thought I was from Mars. She had no idea what OpenTable was or why I would be announcing my name or that I had a reservation. Luckily, there was a table available so I seated myself. By the end of my evening, 1.5 hours for a burger and water, I had to stand and put my coat on to get the swamped server's attention to get my bill. A neighboring party had already requested to take my vacant chair and by the time I paid my bill, both chairs at my table had been removed. It was a free-for-all. Speaking to the server was pointless. She, too, appeared to know nothing about OpenTable. I'd go back for a beer with friends, but not based on OpenTable. OT should be vetting their restaurants better.

Best hamburger. Real ground sirloin and hand made. My husband got the onion soup and he said it was one of the best he has ever had.

We really enjoyed dining here-the presentation of the food was outstanding and our waitresse was friendly ,courteous and knowledgeble .

not sure why but the Desmond decided to close up the restaurant and move every one into the Bar ,, granted it was renovated a bit but I guess I never really saw the place full when dining here. good burgers and bar food selections casual dining

Not bad. Just could be better. It looks nice and has a name that suggests a much better experience. Beer choice was average, food was ok and service was indifferent.

I had reservations at the Tavern. We walked in and there was no one to notify. We sat for well over 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. Our server was way overburdened with more tables than she could comfortably handle. When she brought out our food, she gave my friend his sandwich, looked at my hamburger on her tray, stated that it was the wrong one, and off she went before I could say that I might take it anyhow. My friend was about half finished when she arrived with my burger. I had ordered medium rare and it was medium well. Wasn't about to send it back. Most likely the "wrong" burger was this same burger, simply warmed up. I would definitely give this place another chance. Every restaurant has a bad night and I believe that this was one of them for the Tavern. After we had been there for about 20 minutes, the hostess from the dining room came in and asked if I had made reservations. I informed her that I had. She was very pleasant and friendly.
