The world famous Walnut Room has been a Chicago tradition since 1907. Located on the 7th floor of Macy's on State Street, the Walnut Room was the first restaurant ever opened in a department store. Conveniently located in the heart of the Chicago theater district, the Walnut Room is an excellent choice to take a break from shopping or for a meal and a glass of wine before the show.

    Op zich wel goed en lekker eten, echter je moet voor 19.00 je eten besteld hebben anders is de keuken dicht. WIj hadden een reservering om 18.30 en het was dus vrij rusitig in het restaurant en dus niet mega gezellige sfeer.

    We love the Walnut Room holiday experience. All of the staff is so friendly, cheerful, and helpful. We had reservations and didn’t have to wait long. We received a table with a beautiful view of the tree. The entire restaurant was beautifully decorated. Our waiter was fantastic! So attentive. We didn’t have to wait for anything. The princesses that walked around were lovely and magical. We had appetizers, meals, and desserts. We tried one cocktail and it was perfect. The cost was so reasonable. The little stuffed Santa toy was a surprise for my daughter. She loved it. We loved the Walnut room glass mug souvenir. The Walnut Room is one of our favorite holiday traditions and never disappoints.

    We had a wonderful dinner at the Walnut Room. Our server Alexander was absolutely outstanding. He made our first visit one to remember. We hope we see him next time we are there! Absolutely great memories made for me and family! Thanks so much Walnut room!

    We absolutely loved our experience. James, our server was amazing. We chose the turkey and it was delicious, as was the wine. And a special thank you to the girl that seated us right next to the tree!! This made our first visit so much more special! It was a wonderful time and we hope to make it a yearly holiday tradition.

    It was absolutely not worth waiting few months for the dining experience in The Walnut Room. we have reserved the table on last September(like 3 months ago) for our son’s birthday and kindly asked if we could sit near by the Christmas tree( the only reason why almost everyone is there for, right?). But we were sitted far far back of the restaurant where you can not see ANY parts of the tree. we were very disappointed but we were there for special day so wanted to cheer everything up. Our server was nice but the place is too big for the servers to have communicate with customers, so it takes so long to order anything. The food was below our standards. Food was very lukewarm and salty, and wine glass cup came dirty. Overall, just NO for us
