The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace.
With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

                                                              Alles was lekker , jammer als enige punt in de zaal. Is blijven stilstaan in de tijd, vloer nodig gepoetst En het bestek kan beter. ! Graag messen die snijden

                                                              First time I have been to the White Hart in many years, and I had forgotten just how special this place is. The building of course is totally unique in historical terms, and is beautifully presented, even in these mad health and safety days. The ambience is pure magic - warm and welcoming, non-intrusive but carefully chosen background music. Staff were all incredibly welcoming and once we were eating, didn't keep coming to ask "how is everything?" which really annoys me in some places. Food was 5* excellent - I am vegetarian and could not fault my Main. Two teenage kids had steak and they were very happy with theirs, which is quite unusual (either over or under done, but not here). My wife had the house G&T, and I had the house breads, both of which were amazing. Main complaint - no room for dessert! Keep it up, and we'll be back very soon!

                                                              A wonderful Valentines Day meal with sharing dishes too! Excellent lobster and the choux au craquelin was covered with a divine chocolate sauce. Unreservedly recommended.

                                                              Very disappointing, food was not just the worst we have had at the white heart but probably the worse I have had for a long time anyway The baked cheese and toast wasn’t worth the money, the toast was greasy was the cheese would hold and I just with we never had then I had the battered haddock and chips which the fish was over cooked to hard and almost burnt Chips not much better partner had venison and said that was nice I would chance the desserts after a poor meal and walked out feeling let down and paid a lot for it Normally we enjoy the white heart but for a special evening this has ruined for me Thanks anyway

                                                              The food and atmosphere were outstanding as usual. The baked pistachio custard dessert was amazing! The scallop starter was also delicious - a little more scallop would have been good though. Service was good considering it was one of the busiest nights of the year.

                                                              We had a wonderful, relaxed meal at the White Heart. The food and atmosphere were perfect. I don't usually eat vegetarian meals, but I did for a change. I really enjoyed the food, so I would recommend their veggie dishes. Also, unlike some other places, their alcohol-free gins and wines are lovely and perfect if, like us, you are driving.

                                                              Over a number of years visits to this establishment have never disappointed, the cooking is perfect every time consistently exemplary. The overall experience is wonderful our favourite restaurant. Of course you have to pay for this experience but in our view its value for money, and deserves the accolades they receive!
