Toups' Meatery is a contemporary Cajun restaurant featuring fine food, wine, specialty cocktails, extensive Bourbon selection and charcuterie inspired by deep-rooted Louisiana family traditions. Chef Isaac Toups represents the new guard of Cajun chefs for his updated refined approach to rustic dishes.             Everything was so delicious. We ordered the crispy turkey necks to start, chicken thighs, and oxtails. The turkey necks were fried perfectly, and the pepper jelly on it surprisingly worked really well with them. The chicken was falling off the bone and full of flavor. The oxtail was my least favorite of the night but still not bad at all (the gravy or jus was a little different). Tender. Serving sizes for everything were generous; we could’ve easily split one entree. We’ll be back!

            .Unfortunately it didn’t hold up to the rating. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich with collard greens. The chicken was too heavily batter and the collard greens were not washed well (sandy). The homemade chips over fried , cold and not salted. Maybe it was just an off day or off dish.

            The food was outstanding! Highly recommend. The chef told us that bravery is rewarded in his restaurant and that was the truth! We tired things we were slightly apprehensive about but were certainly rewarded. Can’t wait to come back to NoLa to come here again!

            My husband and I visited Toup’s for our anniversary. We made our reservation online and the restaurant was aware we were there for a special evening. They greeted us with a Happy Anniversary and brought us two mocktails as a gift. We ordered the meat board and broccoli salad to share and it was fantastic! The meats were paired well with additions on the board, the salad crisp and flavorful. 100% would revisit and recommend! Fantastic hospitality, service and flavor.

            We had great meals, smoked duck and oxtail. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend Toups Meatery.
