Valbella, which since 1992 has been a celebratory place and a regular haunt for the locals who pack it most nights of the week both for its sumptuous food and its astonishing wine cellar, containing 1,450 selections and 16,000 bottles.
Downstairs in the wine cellar is where many people hold private parties of various sizes,and what a splendidly beautiful room it is, done in polished wood, with a lovely fireplace, the tables impeccably set, the stemware thin, the temperature geared to the maintenance of the wine.
Also an outstanding feature of the wine cellar is a heated granite table that can accommodate up to sixteen guests.

Really like how quiet it is. Other restaurants would benefit from understanding how important low noise is to the quality of the experience. fantastic cuisine

Valbella is a beautiful restaurant located near 95 in Cos Cob (near Greenwich). We valet parked our car and was immediately asked if we would like a drink. They have specialty drinks, delicious Marinis, and an extensive wine list by the glass and bottle. My wife had a sparkling blueberry lemonade and I a Martini. Both very strong and quite good. For an appetizer we had the Carpaccio. The Carpaccio was very good but piled high with Arugula. If you love Arugula you will enjoy. I think Arugula has its place not sure if it should be piled high on Carpaccio. Then we both had the fish. Allison had the Bronzino and I had the Sword Fish special. Both were excellent. I do recommend Valbella just be aware you are paying for fine dining. Overall I do recommend this restaurant.

Everything was great except for the welcome at the hostess station. The ladies weren’t particularly friendly or inviting. When I checked in for my reservation I felt like I was an imposition. And that’s the first imoression. It’s like curb appeal. Everything else from service and ambiance to food was wonderful.

Excellent service and food. More importantly due to traffic coming out of Brooklyn we were 30 minutes late for our reservation. Our table was held and the restaurant staff assured us all was well and we should just relax and enjoy the night. We will be back and we will spread the word. A totally fantastic night.

Always a good meal, crowd is getting older and older. Staff was great, knowledgeable and attentive. Prices are always very high, but it’s a good meal and you pay lots for that now.

Even on a Saturday night that the restaurant was hosting a private party with VIPs, they took excellent care of us. The service and the pacing of the kitchen was terrific and you'd never know from our experience how busy the team was. A wonderful, special evening.
